He did badly in the last attack River had, tried to smash a volley as soon as the ball got to him, was pretty poor considering his position and that just controlling the ball to ensure possession would have meant 3 points for river.

Obviously the defense is to blame for the goal, but with all his experience he should've known better. I think.
