4-3-3 may not work since our midfield isn't that solid. our attack may be our strength but i don't think facilitating it is the solution we need at this moment
You get the feeling that Trez could take a nap on the pitch for 88 minutes, wake up, and convert two chances in extra time without blinking. He is the ever-sharp blade, the snake in the grass, the TREZE-GREAT
Obviously I'm gonna be called biased, but I think he should get a chance as soon as possible IF he is match fit. Amauri is going through a dry spell and from what I saw against Napoli, Trezeguet's really eager to get scoring again.

A trident as in Amauri and Trez, with DP behind them?? That would be too narrow as the fullbacks don't offer any width or attacking threat whatsoever, while you'd need to have 2 of the 3 capable of playing wide, to play a trident the Ajax way.
I agree with Fred here. And DP behind the striker is a failure, it has been proven to be so. Under all the coaches that DP played he was tried behind the striker and failed miserably.

It was, but lately he's been falling back even deeper than usual, leaving Amauri stranded, but making some terrific through passes. Why not try it again?
Camo-Sissoko-Marchisio
DP/Giovinco
Amauri/DP-Trezeguet
Or simply put Giovinco in and DP instead of Amauri.
coz he likes scoring more, and in all fairness despite the slick through balls he loses the ball way too much playing in the middle or behind the striker(s)

DP falls back, that is true but he wants the space he left to be left for him to roam forward again. Did you see him in the game against Cagliari, he took the ball and bursted forward a few times, if Trezeguet and Amauri are both occupying space he will either have to pass or they have to position awkwardly to let him penetrate.
And as Canardo says, he loses the ball too much when he's in that area.
He can be good in a 3-man forward but then again it has to be one of Amauri and Trezeguet with him and a third that plays wide.
Simply putting Giovinco instead of Amauri is what I mentioned last. I'd put Giovinco instead of Nedved in this case and we're back to a 4-4-2 where Gio and Camo cut in from the flank. In this formation you can rotate Amauri and Trezeguet.
Yeah but Ranieri doesn't like putting Giovinco in general. If he did, I woldn't mind a flat 4-4-2 with him and Camo, supporting Trez/Amauri with DP. Ranieri himself has mentioned a trident with Amauri, DP and Trez a number of times and I'd like to see it, whether it's DP behind two strikers or him and Amauri as wide forwards supporting Trez, I think it can work. I'd like to see some variation of it anyway.
