Any transfer in is a real risk, no matter how good. What we do know is that Trez is no Salas, and he's had years of delivering to back up the fact that he's been an immense acquisition for us.

I think you have to entertain the idea of trading your best players (look what Zidane got us). But that always comes with great risk. I am not so confident with this transfer board at assessing risk right now.
Speaking about risks, our board (unfortunately) is unlike to change in the next couple of years, where DP might retiring/retired, Iaq will be older, Amauri already 30
and then, when the end of Treze's carrier will approach, we will force to make more risks and without that 25 mil boost!
Right now, besides Treze, we have 3 decent starters, in the future we will have one starter and two subs. Objectively, buying a new starter then, will involve more risks!

PS :
My Emo side though will counter argue:
on the other hand, even if DP retires, someone Lanza will grow up, Amauri will be at his best, Treze will still be a decent sub and if Iaq could make place for Treze's successor!
In the meantime, we will have more chances to win titles with such a classy forward line, one of Europes best and we will finally start paying tribute to our living legends, showing the necessary respect!

Its not age alone. Its the simple fact that he isnt getting any younger, and we wont get a 25m offer for him after 2-3 years.Ofocurse he's doing his job,and he's got a few more years left in him.Ive already said tha.But If he's to be sold, then this is the best time. We'd be getting 25m,which will be sufficent to find a quality replacement for him.Nedved joined us at 29,and Del Piero is a club icon,so their cases are different.Trezeguet is a Juventus legend as far as im concerned, but if you're building a team for the future, then you need to take these things into account.Every player, yes, every player has a price.I love David and it'll be hard seeing him go,but 25m is more than we could ask for.
Sallu. What are you on about? Del Piero, Trezeguet and Nedved can be mentioned in the same breath as far as me and a lot of people on here are concerned. I dont care if we get 25, 30, or even 100m plus Ronaldinho, the fact of the matter is Trezeguet stayed with us in B, brought us back up with Alex. And then equally contributed to the cause this season, to be overshadowed by a single goal. I dont care if he's touching 30. He can bang in the goals for fun, and you dont need me to get started on the track record that he's had for the past 8 seasons. He is a legend. We've sold a few in our times, but football wasnt the business it is today. A time when you have to realise the value that comes with player loyalty, consistency and skill - all attributes that devote to the core of the team. Not to mention the love for the shirt. The kind of money we make from a sale like this could buy you an 'I'm 97% Juve" Amauri or 'The I'll play for the highest bidder' Ibrahimovic. But it could never buy you a Grande Trezegol, because the qualities he comes with, our priceless.

That's just it ... even if you want to cash in on Trez, we DON'T have an adequate replacement for him, I'll bitchslap anyone who says it's Amauri.. No player of his quality is up for sale as far as I know .. it's going to be hard replacing him at the mo, not that I want to.

Ok, lets see what we got here.

Blanc's words (4 days ago) : " “We are always looking to make Juventus a team of the highest quality,” insisted Blanc. “It would be senseless to let a player like Trezeguet leave."

Today, Juve director Gianpaolo Montali (who the fuck is he?!!) has labelled Trezeguet as "untouchable".

Elkan says "Ask Barcelona if Trez will leave".

Blanc's and Montali's words are clear. No matter how you twist them you know what they're saying.
Elkan's words can mean anything. They can mean "You've invented so many groundless rumors about Trez going to Barca, and if you're so sure that we're selling him to Barca then go and ask them, they must know better".
It can mean that he's just joking with them, it can mean that he's taking their attention off our real targets, and yes, it can mean that we're negotiating with Barcelona.

We'll see what will happen, but to me it seems that two of our directors clearly said that Trez is untouchable while the words of Elkan have been twisted.

I dont know how this management works. I knew then during Moggi, when he says something it means quite the opposite :D

tbh though, every season, trez is the player i worry most about going out of Juventus. Im willing to bet my life that Buffon and DP wont leave, Camo's stuck in his own creative world and if Nedved were to leave that means an almost certain retirement. Trez, time and time again, is being linked to Barcelona. SHIT!

TBH, I love Trez too, but you have to love the team more, and you have to think about the team.

Look at Vieri for example when he was at Inter, he was still world class, scoring goals, but you could see his time was coming to an end. And look at him now, he cant score if his life depended on it.

We have to replace our team one player at a time, not wait to turn into an old people's home, like Milan. If Barca really is offering 25 mil € we should take it, for that money we could surely get Huntelaar, add a few mil we could probably get Benzema, Gomes, etc.

Trez will be scoring 20+ goals when he is 35. I don't understand this Trez is on a downhill points. Trez doesn't rely on physical strength. dribbling, stamina or pace. He relies on his intelligence, anticipation and first touch to score. And these are not traits that a player loses unlike say a player who relies on pace. Trez of 32 years will not be different than Trez of 25 years.

The guy just scored 20 goals, and get this, he scored 20 (2 penalties) goals with the lack of creativity we've had. Can you imagine how many more he will score with the likes of Giovinco, an injury free Camo and hopefully Xabi Alonso providing him with assists?

if anything, King David is playing better than ever...he has improved a LOT, especially in building an attack...he isn't the absent Trez of previous seasons at all

Exactly. Everyone was saying the same thing about Toni (he's old, he'll slow down blah blah blah). Look at him now. It's the same situation as Trez. Trez is just one of those players who won't stop banging in those goals, and we need him. I don't see the point of taking a risk when you currently have a guarantee.

Dear John Elkann,

Shut up!!
What? Things getting serious? At first, I thought it is Lapo not John!

No. Thank you.
Exactly. It is John, not Lapdog. I normally have a good deal of respect for what's on John's shoulders.

Whatever is on Lapo's shoulders, you can be assured it's nothing that can't be cleaned up with a rolled up €1 bill and a few good snorts. :claire:

25 Million for Trezeguet?? We must be idiot to reject an offer like that. We all love Trezeguet, but if you get offers like this, you have to think about the team and the future first!
