Trez suffers injury scare

David Trezeguet looks set to miss this weekend’s trip to Udinese after limping off during training with a muscular problem.

The Juventus striker pulled up in today’s session, limping heavily and holding on to the top of his thigh.

The extent of the injury will be evaluated on Wednesday, but there are strong fears Trezeguet will be forced out of the match at the Stadio Friuli.

It would be foolish to risk him, even in a meeting with another contender for a Champions League spot, as Juve face Roma next week.

The good news for Claudio Ranieri is that Gianluigi Buffon resumed training today and could be fit for Sunday, while Giorgio Chiellini hopes to return against Roma.

Cristiano Zanetti and Vincenzo Iaquinta are back after their one-match bans expired.

Nope, I just googled and found he has a father(Jorge), mother(Beatriz) and sister(Fabiana). However "Fabiana Trezeguet" brings up no matches whatsoever.

Trezeguet, the character

David Trezeguet is a very special individual. He loves soccer, which is a real passion for him. He loves to watch games on TV, he is 360° into the sport that everyone defines as best of the world. In his spare-time he enjoys music of different kinds, including South American, which reminds him of his roots. His family is in fact Argentinean. Mum Beatriz, dad Jorge and his sister Fabiana have always been very present in his life.

They support him in difficult moments and rejoice with him for all his achievements. At the Delle Alpi stadium they can always be spotted. Mum Beatriz is always filmed by the cameras wearing the jersey with number 17, while supporting his David. And who knows, maybe Trezegol’s son, little Aaron who is now 5, will one day follow his father’s footsteps…

Buffon & Trezeguet Fit For Udinese

Gialuigi Buffon and David Trezeguet have both been passed fit to start this weekend’s Serie A clash with Udinese.

Goalkeeper Buffon has missed the last two Serie A matches, as well as the Coppa Italia tie with Inter due to a chronic back complaint.

The problem was so bad that there were fears he may end up requiring a hernia operation that would have put his participation at Euro 2008 at risk.

Buffon’s return date has already been put back twice but it seems that he will now definitely return for the match at the Stadio Friuli.

Trezeguet will also participate after recovering from muscular problems that he reported following last Sunday’s disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari.

The Frenchman is the current top-scorer in Serie A with 15 goals, and will be hoping to add to this tally on Sunday.

Meanwhile Giorgio Chiellini is also said to be recovering well from the knee injury he picked up against Empoli in the Italian Cup last month.

The 23-year-old will not be fit to play against Udinese, but there is a chance of him returning for the following week’s match with Roma.
