why so? he and henry are all france has left in terms of world class players. i see none that hold the prestige that he does. the guy still has about 4-5 more yrs in him barring serious injury. on top of all that france has no (threatening) strikers IMO if he is done.

plus he is one of the last of the greatest bleu squad ever , so its kinda personal :p
I would disagree with you over the world class thing.Viera is worldclass,Gallas is world class, and players like Ribery and Malouda(im not sure about the spellings) would reach that mark in the coming years too.France have an ageing squad, and that was obvious during the world cup finals where they had quite a few veterans from the 98 finals still in their squad. They need fresh blood.Trezeguet has been brilliant for them with whatever chances he's had.But i dont think he's indispensable to them like Henry.Add that to the fact that Trezeguet is injury prone, and i think it would be better if he concentrated on club football only since he's not getting any younger, and his injury issues will only get worse with time.

i agree that ribery, gallas, abidal, malouda are all up and coming players who will soon achieve world class status but not as of yet. Euro08 will be their stage to prove that. viera is old now and it was evident in the wc final when he tapped out like a lil bitch IMO.

france has always relied on their mid attack to open the game up but now with the loss of zz and no creator/table setter it will be more pressure on the forwards to initiate IMO.

yes trez is injury prone and getting old but i still consider him just as elite as henry. for the NT they are separated by 5 goals - trez 34 and henry 39.

bottom line is that i am agreeing with you partially but my point is that i still feel that trez is a premium striker and still has 'it'. and thus should not be snubbed by that douche domenech who relies on ms. cleo and her tarot cards to make coaching decisions for him.

great ! We all love trezeguet ! I know it's not easy to fall apart with a club he was playing for since a long time !!

p.s : trezeguet staying means that the huner is not coming ?
