Stupid Domenech Ignores David again:

----------------------------------------------------

France pick newcomers, leave out Trezeguet

PARIS, May 24 (Reuters) - France coach Raymond Domenech picked three newcomers in the 23-man squad he unveiled on Thursday for Euro 2008 qualifiers against Ukraine and Georgia next month.

Domenech called up Stade Rennes striker Jimmy Briand, 21, and Auxerre defender Bakary Sagna, 24, while again leaving out Juventus forward David Trezeguet.

The other uncapped player on the list is reserve goalkeeper Sebastien Frey, from Fiorentina.

Domenech has to make do without midfielder and captain Patrick Vieira, striker Thierry Henry and defender Willy Sagnol because of injury.

France play Ukraine on June 2 at the Stade de France and Georgia four days later in Auxerre.

"Briand is on form and it was logical to call him up," Domenech told a news conference.

"As for Sagna, he's just been voted best Ligue 1 defender by his fellow players and I did not have that many options at right back."

The France coach again banked on youth by selecting players such as Samir Nasri, Karim Benzema, Abou Diaby and Lassana Diarra.

He also welcomed back Olympique Marseille forward Djibril Cisse for the first time since a leg fracture ruled him out of last year's World Cup.

Domenech said Trezeguet, who has helped Juventus make it back to Serie A, was still part of his plans.

"There is a difference between the competition he has been playing in and international football but David has talent and is still a member of the France team," the coach said
.

France are tied with Ukraine and Scotland at the top of Group B with 12 points. Scotland have played six games, one more than the two other leaders. World champions Italy are fourth.

Goalkeepers: 23-Gregory Coupet (Olympique Lyon), 16-Sebastien Frey (Fiorentina), 1-Mickael Landreau (Paris St Germain)

Defenders: 3-Eric Abidal (Olympique Lyon), 13-Francois Clerc (Olympique Lyon), 21-Julien Escude (Sevilla), 5-William Gallas (Arsenal), 12-Bakary Sagna (Auxerre), 17-Sebastien Squillaci (Olympique Lyon), 15-Lilian Thuram (Barcelona)

Midfielders: 2-Abou Diaby (Arsenal), 18-Alou Diarra (Olympique Lyon), 4-Lassana Diarra (Chelsea), 6-Claude Makelele (Chelsea), 7-Florent Malouda (Olympique Lyon), 11-Samir Nasri (Olympique Marseille), 22-Franck Ribery (Olympique Marseille), 8-Jeremy Toulalan (Olympique Lyon)

Strikers: 39-Nicolas Anelka (Bolton Wanderers), 20-Karim Benzema (Olympique Lyon), 14-Jimmy Briand (Stade Rennes), 9-Djibril Cisse (Olympique Lyon), 10-Sidney Govou (Olympique Lyon).

It never ceases to amaze me how dumb this cocksucker is, how he is still the coach of the france nt is beyond me.
Because ZZ played some games of his life at the crucial stages of the last WC, got France to the final and saved this moron's job for a few more years.

Good news fo Scotland. Domenech is a joke of a manager. Henry is unfit and he won't include argubly the best goal scorer in Europe?

Like I say I'm happy cos it improves Scotlands chances to qualify.

Raymond Domenech has resisted the temptation to recall David Trezeguet into the France squad for next month's Euro 2008 qualifiers.

With Thierry Henry and Louis Saha both ruled out through injury, the Juventus striker had been tipped to return to the international scene.

However, Domenech refuses to call on Trezeguet while the experienced front man is still plying his trade in Serie B.

"Just like Jean-Alain Boumsong, David is not here for the same reasons again, that for one year he has played in Serie B," Domenech told French media.

"There is a pace difference between international competition and Serie B. But the moment for his comeback will arrive soon."

Trezeguet and Juventus will return to Italy's top flight next season with the Old Lady winning promotion straight back to Serie A.

Instead of Trezeguet, Domenech opted to call up Rennes' talented striker Jimmy Briand:(, saying: "I know what he is capable of."

Meanwhile, the French team coach has stated his hope that Sylvain Wiltord continues playing for another couple of years.

Wiltord was recently suspended by Lyon, but Domenech is praying it does not signal the end of the former Arsenal man's career.

"I hope that it isn't going to be the end of his career, but just a time-out," Domenech was quoted on the French Football Federation's website.

"He has what is required to play two more good seasons. I hope that he will be available for September's (qualifiers)."
