I will admit that I have been one of those over the last 6 years here who have been equal parts enthralled and thrilled at his goal scoring rate, and tearing at my sultry brown locks in frustration at his lack of doing anything else on the field when more needed to be done.

That being said, I am happy for him that he was able to bag a goal, and hope this helps boost his confidence. However, my stance remains the same.

If he has a good year this year, then I feel it is the responsibility of the franchise to look out for their best interests in the future. If it means selling him in the off-season to secure funds to bring in someone younger for the inevitability of both he and Del Piero not being here in the near future, then sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do.

Actually it makes sense to get out of this dreadful business and get into a more lucrative industry.
What have you got in mind?

I think the Juventus franchis should move away from Turin and move to a part of Italy where they will get bigger crowds.

No I mean if you're gonna wear the business glasses the first thing I'd do is sell the club and get into the oil business or something else that pays well, not a company where balancing the books is a struggle.

People get into football for money laundering or to stash away capital, not to get rich. Unless they have a terrible business sense, but then they won't be in business long.

The funny thing is, Football is the only major sport worldwide, where I see the richest clubs, franchises, whatever you want to call it, lose money on a yearly basis. The ownership groups simplay can't help themselves by spending, or borowing money that they don't have. Until there is a fixed cap on wages and/or transfer fee budgets, this is going to continue. Not to "Americanize" this point, bu tyou never hear about the Dallas Cowboys, The New York Jets, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, or the Los Angeles Lakers losing money.

At least I can't be the one to blame for taking this thread off topic. For a change

You said franchise so yes it's your fault :p

Yeah it's funny how much money owners commit themselves to. Thank goodness Moratti is moonlighting or there would be no Vieris, Ronaldos or Crespos. How much poorer we'd all be for that too. And yet the amount of money in the sport just keeps increasing rapidly, so each year you have to spend more and more if you want to stay competitive.

When someone like Rosella Sensi says there'll be no underwriting the club that's a huge concern to the fans. And yet what is she saying other than "I will not invest money I will never get back"?

You guys ever wonder if Trez would have made that last chance Marchisio shot off the crossbar yesterday?

Makes you think, doesn't it?
