Trezeguet: Buy For Me Argentina

David Trezeguet has urged the Juventus hierarchy to look towards Argentina for a host of promising young players.

Argentina have produced a plethora of teenage sensations in recent years, with the two most obvious players to break through being Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid’s Sergio Aguero.

The current batch just below these are said to have every chance of reaching these levels, and Trezeguet has sent out a plea to
Juve to sign Lanus pair Agustin Daniel Pelletieri and Diego Valeri, Estudiantes attacker Pablo Piatti and River Plate starlet Diego Buonanotte.

"They are all players of genuine class, my friends speak very well of them,” said Trezeguet, whose father is Argentinean.

“And enough with the reports that they're too young. In recent years two lads have exploded on the world scene called Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero.

"Argentina is a great source of talent."

Juventus are on the lookout for some creative talent ahead of next season, as they aim to move to the next level and challenge for the Scudetto.

Despite a sound campaign on their first year back in the top flight, the Bianconeri have certainly lacked some flair and skill in their starting line-up.

Never again compare someone with Jordan.
Jordan has proven himself more than a million times over and over again.
Jordan was above human... while Messi just comes looking around the corner
its an example, and jordan is the benchmark.

the point of a benchmark is to compare yourself to or achieve to that level.

i never said messi is the equivalent of jordan, all i said was that great players are selfish like jordan was.

also your logic implies that no other athlete is great or jordan-esque, which is totally false.

It isn't.
You are comparing a king with a soldier.
Jordan brought many titles to Chicago, but I haven't seen Messi doing that yet.
What I'm trying to say is...
Messi is a great player, no doubt about it.
But he sometimes makes stupid actions what could cost the team. In stead of passing the ball, he goes for his tricks.
And when he gets a slight injury, he cries like Ronaldo. He's a spoiled brat

Changed Man Domenech Defends Trezeguet

France national team boss Raymond Domenech is fast developing a reputation as something of a 'changed man’, and he has now defended David Trezeguet despite the striker’s poor performance against England.

Domenech has become something of an irritating figure around Europe over the past couple of years, particularly in Italy, due to numerous outbursts and controversial statements.

In December of last year he made a promise not to speak again about Italy until they play France at Euro 2008.

Despite one more tirade a few days after this when he accused Italy of playing for draws, Domenech has largely stuck to his word and his behaviour has been exemplary.

David Trezeguet has had some well known personal differences with Domenech, and had been frozen out of the national set-up for almost seven months.

However he received a surprise late call-up for Wednesday’s 1-0 win over England at the Stade de France when Lyon star Karim Benzema withdrew due to injury.

By all admissions Trezeguet had an anonymous game, but Domenech has again displayed his newfound considerate side by praising the Juventus hitman.

"For our attackers Wednesday’s game was not very easy,” he said.

“We suffered against our opponent. David was active enough, and despite not receiving too many balls, he was an important reference point for us.”

It remains to be seen whether Domenech really is a changed man, or if he will revert back to his controversial ways before Euro 2008.
