Trez :touched:

I personally thought he was done with the club. I know I might be flamed for this, but I hope he stays at this club till end of his career, and have a good go at breaking Ale's goalscoring record.

I ll eat my words, and say Secco is doing a good job. He has really upped his gear last couple of weeks. Milito, and attacking midfield will make our mercato complete. Quaresma, Van der Vaart?:lick:

I am not a Secco hater - really because I personally have no clue what goes on behind those closed doors but it has to be said that all the good stuff happened while Bettega was still at the club..

Seems suspiciously like things have stalled recently, I hope my fears are smashed soon with some key transfers/resignings..

My hatred of Secco mainly stemmed from his "reputed" disputes with Didi Deschamp. Nothing against Secco but Didi has been my favorite player after Robby Baggio, and I thought he deserved more respected for the work he has put in for the club. However, with hindsight, I think his resignation was mainly forced by Buffon. If not keeping Deschamp was the cost of keeping Buffon, then I have to say Secco did the right thing. Because Buffon comes just about the closest thing to being irreplacable in modern game.

Grygera, Brazzo, Criscito, Nocerino, Iaquinta, Tiago, Almiron, Buffon, Trezeguet? Man that is one heck of Mercato campaign. Add in Milito, playmaker, and Camo, Neddy, I think we will be easily better than Lazio or Fiorentina.

i always thought trez was gonna stay with us,cos he has attracted so many clubs even before we went to the B,but we always managed to keep him at our disposal..so even with those issues him leaving,i wasn't really concerned, however camoranesi on the other hand, does make me concerned a bit,i just hope we will manage to keep him also..

I agree that Buffon trumps Didi of course but I don't know if I would call it one heck of a mercato campaign just yet mate. Still some big pieces of the puzzle to come into place esp as we keep bleeding youngsters out, our depth sucks right now, a few key injuries and a tie against Inter might not be a pretty sight - that is my real fear..

Trezeguet: “We want to win the League”

Juventus is showing its aces. After Pavel Nedved, it's David Trezeguet's turn to show up in Pinzolo's press room. And the Frenchman's words - reiterating convictions already aired during the public presentation the night before - are those that every Juventus fan hoped to hear: “We have all we need to aim for victory in the League and reclaim what was taken away from us”.

'Trezegol' has stayed at Juventus for this purpose too. His first thought is for the 30 days that have passed between the end of the championship and the beginning of the camp.

Desire to stay: “My idea has always been to stay here at Juventus. That's why I'm happy to have agreed the terms of my contract renewal with the club. Before going on holiday I'd made myself clear. After the year in Serie B, the trickiest year in the club's history, I'd said I wanted to stay and play in a team able to compete at the very top and in this sense my wishes have been met. I have given a great deal for these colours and I want to continue doing so”.

Team mates and supporters: “I've also been pleased with the faith that everyone has shown in me: not only the club's management, but my team mates and the supporters too. It's true, I had some offers, but there aren't many clubs around as big as this one. My intention was to stay and I never planned to get to the end of the contract and then leave”.

Ranieri's contribution: “The Manager has been vital in my decision to stay: he called me and told me that he believed in me and this was a sign of his belief in me”.

Remarkable statistics: “I love statistics and I think 140 goals are not to be scoffed at. It isn't easy, particularly for a foreigner, you always have to show something extra”.

Records to improve: “I want to improve my records even more. I need 5 matches to reach 100 games in Serie A, 10 to reach 150 overall and in the four years of my new contract I can aim for 200”.

Working for the collective: “I'm starting this season with great motivations, to continue giving my best and I can still win a lot with this team. We have a large, high-quality squad and we really want to reclaim what was taken away from us”.

Enthusiasm: “It'll be our secret weapon. After what happened last year, we're even more willing to get back to the top. They took two League titles away from us after we'd clearly shown we were the best on the pitch”.

A competitive team: “We're training well here. Some of us have known each other longer, others have just arrived. What is certain is that we're a quality team and this is important in terms of our future”.

Winning the league? Why not: “We're Juventus, we have a lot of great players and a strong club organization. We can do very well, even win the title. We can definitely fight for it ‘til the end”.

The new arrivals: “They're very eager and they've realized they're at a club where ending in second place has no value. Everybody wants to join in and communicate with their team mates. They were immediately surprised to see so many people with so much enthusiasm”.

Andrade: “He has proven his worth. I think he'll do well, I can see he's very motivated. He's definitely an asset for us”.

Almiron: “He has Argentinean blood, like me; he's a down-to-earth kid. He has the right attributes to do well”.

Iaquinta: “He's already proven how good he is at Udinese, now he has the chance to play for a big club. We haven't tried out tactically yet, but he has the right qualities to play alongside me”.

Tactics: “I haven't spoken with the Manager about tactics yet. From what I've seen, he favours a fast, passing game, with the ball always kept on the ground. We can't as yet say we have anything resembling a real playing style. Everybody in the staff is excited and we all want to do well. We'll give everything we've got to win. Our weapons will be determination, heart and our desire to win”.

The losers: “Inter Milan and AC Milan have teams that have been playing together longer. We've changed many players and that’s why we have to work hard. We'll be ready when it counts. We want to play in front of sold-out crowds again”.

Trez on Scudetto mission Sunday 15 July, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David Trezeguet says this season will give Juventus the chance to “bring back what was taken from us – the Scudetto.”

The Frenchman was one of several top stars who stayed with the club after their demotion to Serie B and the removal of the 2005 and 2006 titles in the Calciopoli scandal.

“We lost two Scudetti despite proving on the field that we were the best. Now we want them back. That is the only thought in our minds,” he said from their pre-season training camp.

“We want to bring back what was taken from us. We have to at least try, as when you are Juve then second or third place is worth nothing.”

The Bianconeri have been off the Serie A stage for a year, but now they are back with Coach Claudio Ranieri and a host of new signings including Jorge Andrade, Tiago, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Sergio Almiron and Hasan Salihamidzic.

“We have a very competitive squad and above all an extremely strong desire to prove ourselves. Inter and Milan are a step above because they have been together for longer, but our determination can compensate for that. The Scudetto is possible.

“The game with Inter will be a special one, but so will all the encounters with the big clubs. We have waited a year for this.”

Trezeguet had been on the verge of leaving Turin this summer and negotiations with Inter were said to be at an advanced stage.

“I wanted to stay, because I have deep roots in this club. I only asked for a strong squad that was worthy of Juve’s tradition and could immediately challenge for the title. I never thought of leaving, nor of waiting until my contract expired.”

Some say the key turning point was the arrival of former Chelsea and Parma boss Ranieri to replace Didier Deschamps.

“He called me and said he wanted to focus on me. It doesn’t matter if a striker like Iaquinta has arrived, as we can happily play in the same line-up.”

The reinforcements aren’t complete yet, as reports continue to circulate that Fabio Cannavaro will make a comeback from his Liga title-winning spell at Real Madrid.

call me selfish, but I want Canna back

he is the missing piece to this defence, and IMO, there are no better defenders out there right now that are available

If only David shows this enthusiasm in the field..

and yeah Vinman, Cannavaro would be the best transfer Imo. we need him back we can't find a player like him, he is the best defender out there. We all know how he gives 100% to the game, we need that lion back.

I have to agree with you on this one. There is no better partner for Andrade than Cannavaro. He is the missing piece in our team!
