Arsenal plan Trez raid
Wednesday 13 June, 2007

Arsenal want Juventus striker David Trezeguet to partner Thierry Henry in the Premiership next season.

The Bianconeri ace looks set to leave Turin after rejecting the club’s offer of a new contract and is eyeing a fresh challenge after 140 goals during his seven years with the Italian giants.

Arsenal are well aware of his situation and are hoping Trezeguet’s arrival would help Thierry Henry, an alleged £37m Barcelona target, to remain in England.

Given that the World Cup winner has just a year left on his current deal, he may be available for transfer to the Gunners at a cut-price £4m.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is allegedly keen on reuniting Henry and Trezeguet – whom he worked with at Monaco in the past.

Trezeguet, 29, would reportedly demand a salary of close to £3m a season and has also been linked with Inter, Barcelona and Milan recently.

Idiots. Instead of extending his contract and saving some money, we are gonna loose him for peanuts and spend 10mil on Iaquinta. Secco.... :sigh:

If this BOD sells Trez for that price, then seriously someone must hang them altogether :(

it's not up to the BOD, theyre not that stupid. Fifa's rule says that since Trez is in his last year, he can buy out his contract within 2 weeks of the end of the season. Season ended last sunday so he has 11 days to do so. If he decides not to exercise this option in the next 11 days then Juve can name their price for him. So fingers crossed for another 11 days.

True, but Trez said he wanna honor his contract with Juve, so if Arsenal wanna buy Trez, they have to show Juve a proper offer!
