Either he crosses even with a guy right in front, plays the 1-2 cause he can’t beat his man or back-passes.

We lose so many dimensions to our attack versus having another technical fullback who can fill in for Cuads.

We could still do A LOT worse, all things considered with the rest of our squad.

I think his best position is a RCB in a three man backline ala Barzagli. Wish Allegri would experiment already.

He's not an offensive fullback by any means, but less than a week ago he had a nice assist:

It's not a fair critique, cancelo plays in midfield in a possession centered scheme. Danilo plays defense in a team that tries to olay compact. I take danilo over cancelo in defense any day.

I did read. And Cancelo in that season had 5 assists. Next season Danilo had 0. We are not in 1990 where fullbacks only defend.

Only defend? They need to at least try. Cancelo was too stupid to try. City is a team that keeps the ball much longer than we can, and it flatters defenders too. Replace Danilo with Cancelo and you'll get less assists (to who?) and more goals given up.
He's a good player for a certain team and tactic. We can't be like that.

His assist and mistake came both in the away tie. He assisted right before HT and made that mistake right after HT.
