He played well. It is against a weak team however he won't start when MDL is fit so to know he can play in the role and rest MDL during the season against mid table teams is good to know.

Surprise to say that he is not the worst player in the 3 men defense at the moment... more surprise to say that he actually has been the best in defense so far.. o_O

Pirlo found the perfect position for him. When De Ligt returns he should bench Bonucci, not Danilo.
Was thinking this too. Will never happen but Danilo has been doing quite well so far in the first two rounds. Amazing cross today.

Pirlo has bigger fish to fry than Danilo though. IMO We should be hardcore with the backline and do Demiral-MDL-Chiellini. Bonucci can fight for scraps.

We really need a backline that people fear again. That was always our foundation under Conte was the BBC. No matter what happened in front of them if the mids or attack failed they were always there to mop it up.

the problem with that is none of those three are really that much of a threat going forward, nor do you wanna see them covering the flank, so the best way to get all three in the lineup would be to switch to a straight 352. But then two of Kulu/Dybala/Morata are on the bench.
