Who knows how he would have developed but can't help but think the years sitting on the bench have ruined him.

I understand the argument of learning from Barzagli and Chiellini, but there was always going to be a time limit on that. It would have been far better for him to learn how to defend by putting his body on the line and battle for points at a lower Serie A side for a few years.

It was clear for years one of his biggest weaknesses is his timid nature. A season or two at a lowly side would have helped that.

Would have to take a massive leap to be good enough for us and certainly needs to play somewhere else next season. Hopefully we can add him to a swap.

Serie C level player. It’s crazy how many games we lose and goals we concede whenever this bum is on the field. Needs to be sold, like yesterday. The most un-intimidating, clumsy, hapless and soft defender I’ve ever seen in a Juventus jersey. Disaster.
Luckily we have the U23 in Serie C. He should play there from next season onwards.

rugani is a simple example that shows we are a loser on developing italian players .
inter: Barella,Bastoni,Sensi ( and tonali in the summer)
milan : Donnarumma,Romagnoli
roma : Zaniolo,Pellegrini
juventus: rugani, bernardeschi

Meh, none of these names impresses.
Can you think of an Italian player in last 10-14 years (who was not part of that WC 2006 generation) that was considered among top 5 in his position? The only Italians who made the UEFA team of the year since we came back from serie B were: Pirlo in 2012 (Juve player); Buffon in 2016 (Juve player); Bonucci in 2016 (Juve player); Chiellini in 2017 (Juve player).
It's the other Italian teams and the Italian youth schools who failed to produce super talents.
The only WC Italian player after that 2006 generation is Chiellini, and it's us who made him. Balotelli had the chance, but not the brains.
Year after year people jerk on Italian youngsters and year after year they disappoint.
