fuck knows but if dybala and alex sandro are getting dropped for a lack in form then khedira shouldnt be starting neither
fuck knows? come on, you have to atleast know a little about what youre talking about. this is Marchisio under Allegri before his injury in April 2016:

and i dont have to even tell you how stronger our midfield was in both these seasons. now, this is Marchisio this season:

whats the issue here? Allegri doesent trust a player hes played to the ground for 2 years? lets ask Claudio himself, right after he played his only full game this season:

“The last two months have certainly been more difficult than the six months out with the knee injury,” confessed Marchisio.

“I had a pretty serious problem to the flexor of the left leg, but we were able to treat it well and get back on the field. That’s the most important thing."

He was given a role in the starting XI for the 2-1 Serie A victory over Benevento.

“I am happy to have played 90 minutes after two-and-a-half months. I didn’t think I would reach the end of the game without any problems or cramps, but it all went perfectly well.”
its clear Marchisio isnt up to (atleast not in the near future) playing on a high level week in week out, otherwise Allegri would have used him more. 14/15 Marchisio would bench Khedira obviously, but this is sadly not prime Marchisio anymore. Bentancur? hes a different type of Cm than Khedira. he also (still) lacks the game without the ball that Allegri obviously values in the 3 man midfield, and that Khedira brings. so if you want Khedira on the bench you either: 1. go back to 4231 2. have Bentancur reach his physical, technical and tactical prime in the next 2 weeks 3. have Marchisio miraculously recover in the next 2-3 weeks, or 4. sign a b2b mid in January. everything else, Khedira plays

You speak as if Marchisio is broken and still injured, he's not. How is he ever going to be 100% if all he's getting is a few minutes here and there. I refuse to believe he can't play week in week out, it's no coincidence that there are rumours flying around of Marchisio possibly leaving linked with his lack of playing time

how do you want me to take you serious if you believe that crap? hes not in physical shape to play a b2b role anymore, especially not on a weekly basis. until i see him play few weeks in a row as a starter, i wont be convinced hes up to it, which is why i wont cry every week about him never playing. hes gonna be a sub in at most for a couple more months definitely

I love how you are so convinced in something based off years passed. But Khedira played well the last few years and you want to throw him under the bus. Khedira doesnt protect the defense like a Matuidi would so hes going to look and get exposed at time especially when our team structure is struggling. He might not be a great player like he was in the past but to assume that Marchisio is being treated poorly and derves to be on the field is purely speculative. Im going to trust the coach that is one of the tops in the world. Also Pjanic and Marchisio play the same position and Max doesnt want that. Hes trying to keep the midfield balanced

I like how neither you or zizinho have yet to actually state what khedira actually adds to the team. Yet somehow are trying to convince me that he's worthy of a starting spot

Go ahead and tell me what Marchisio adds? You want him and Pjanic together? I love him but he needs to be the distributer. Honestly he just gets around the box and takes long shots. Matuidi is the best option but this whole Marchisio is world class you have going on is baseless

are you seriously asking this question? Marchisio is versatile enough as a midfielder not to clash with Pjanic he's proven that over the years

one thing is for sure even if you don't think so, he adds way way way more to this team than Khedira does

and where did i say marchisio is world class? please stop making shit up, I simply said that khedira does not justify his starting spot especially when we have the likes of marchisio sitting on the bench. It doesn't take a world class player to displace this season's khedira, in fact a decent player would be enough that's how little khedira contributes to this team now.

and yeah, the reason i even visited the thread - nice game from Rugani, should start the game after Roma as well

Marchisio played 90 minutes for the 2nd time this entire season tonight. both times in the least tempo, no pressure games of the season. and you expect him to pull off 90 minutes vs Roma based on that? you really either hate Khedira or are just blind

not true. he adds exactly what his role requires him to
Which is what exactly? He doesnt give any defensive cover. Going forwards he offers very little threat his general link up play is meh and lacks any sort of mobility

hes not there to provide defensive cover, he most often has Pjanic-Matuidi behind him and De Sciglio-Cuadrado covering the right side. he gives you an extra body in attack and a pass to target with his smart movement without the ball. its just you not paying attention to what players do without the ball that makes you think he does nothing
