Can I throw something out there and give me your opinion if you wish.
Last year we had a very organized team that dominated offenses including the front 3 of Neymar,Messi and suarez. Khedira didnt need to cover them by making tackles and putting pressure but merely blocking passing lanes and forcing them into the area where we could thrive defensively. A lot of players cant do that. This year he looks a lot worse and it has nothing to do with 5 months gone by makes him lose his legs. We have been weak on defense so it puts more pressure on the midfield.

Khedira might be a good fit or maybe not but the biggest issue is losing 2(out of form Sandro and Alves) options out of the back in possesion which puts more responsibilty on him and also defensively he needs to be more mobile helping. He has strengths and weaknesses like every player and right now he is looking pretty poor because our back line couldnt hold up the first half of the season

Rugani doesn't have confidence of the coach and Alex sandro is unhappy as we always sell players to fund our transfer budget we cannot miss opportunity to sign SMS as caldara spinazzola and maybe de vrij will arrive next season

As much as i would like to see him in our defence, its really hard for him to get a spot when Barza and Chiellini and Benatia are playing in beast mode. His time will come, he just has to be ptient. All Italian CB's are late bloomers, i have discussed this 100 times.
