It's american protocol right? I mean anywhere else in the world they wouldn't even consider suspending when not a single drop of rain has fallen. I remember IndyCar also did this just because there is a chance of thunderstorm/thunderstorm in the area. Not a single drop but the race suspended wtf
Lightning is sort of tricky. Even if a thunderstorm cell isn’t right over you, lightning can actually travel 10-20 miles horizontally out of a storm. Even though it’s rare, the liability is still there.

Hence the term “bolt from the blue” right?

And I agree, we have wicked thunderstorms here in Australia too and plenty of games here have to be interrupted if there’s a storm close by. Our league is also played in the Australian summer here, which is insane.

So this match was billed as Messi vs PSG. At 4-0 at halftime, I don't think 29 Messis are going to even this match up.
It depends. Would all 29 Messi's walk for 98% of the game and give absolutely no effort off the ball like he's doing today?

From minute 1, he never even tried.

My god, I'm listening to these MLS fanboy announcers getting hard-ons over Messi lining up to almost take a shot at goal. PSG has 13 hots on goal vs Inter Miami's 1. They're knob-gobbling for Inter Miami fans on this one. This is humiliation. Inter Miami can barely get a shot off.

I have no respect for announcers who gaslight fans when their side is so godawful by comparison that the match isn't even a contest.

Are announcers like this in Germany? Are they just as ruthless as the der mannschaft plays?

Inter Miami is the only team that has been invited to this tournament, arent there in merit but for the Messi PR machine.

So it stands to reason the American network will go in overdrive to promote them even if its completely against reality.

Wouldn't be suprised if Infantino called in on PSG at half time and told them settle down, don't embarrass our product any further in its first playoff game. They were essentially conserving energy for next game 2nd half.

Very Italian like of them, who generally have the mindset of its ungentlemanly to run scores up, unlike especially Germans or sometimes Spanish who go ham in games they dominating.
