If zanetti is good enough for serie A where he go up against the likes of Milan, Inter and Roma ... he should be more than a match for most teams in Europe

:rulz:
Absolutely...on current form he should be startring for Italy alongside Pirlo and De Rossi...Gattuso hasn't been that good this season

and whats up with those kick-ass thru balls? C-Za is really in the zone this season

I wouldn't trade Zanetti for anyone ATM, he rocks this season. Look at those 2 assists against Lazio, one was from one end to the other.

And agains Livorno the assist was superb!

:tup:Forza Cristiano!!!

He is on superb form, but you can't take Zanetti ahead of the likes of De Rossi, Pirlo or Gattuso, those are all talents, Italy needs them desperately. But sure I prefer him over Ambrosini any day, who would argue about that? :wth:

Probably Pirlo yeah. But I can surely add him on the same level as Gattuso. And It's not about good, form, the man has been playing brilliant since he arrived till now. I don't remember more than couple of bad matches for him. Other than that he's been out of this world.

De Rossi has nothing special comparing to Zanetti.

And some ppl still think he doesn't deserve to be called up ahead of De Rossi, Ambrosini and even Gattuso.
I was one of these people, but i didn't say or think that he doesn't deserve to be called in front of Gattuso,De Rossi, Ambrosini, i thought Donadoni won't call him in front of them.
And i still think Donadoni may do something so stupid.
Zanetti is playing better than all 3 of them and i believe he is a better player than Ambrosini.
And exactly Ambrosini is his main rival. No matter how they play Gattuso and De Rossi, as world champions and very popular in Italy, have a guaranteed spot in the team.
Ambrosini, partly because he plays for Berlusconi's team, partly because he already played in the qualifiers and partly because he knows and plays together with 2 of the sure starters in midfield (Gattuso and Pirlo) week after week also has an advantage over Zanetti.

So, with Donadoni being the coach, Zanetti's only chance to make it to the EURO is either an injury of one of these 3 players or Donadoni to decide to take 4 DMC's at the EURO.
