@Hist thoughts?
Seriously though, while that writer is bonkers, is Ron too old now to score 45+, is it the league, is it us, or will he score more under Sarri?

Part of the reason is he's involved more in our play than he was at Real.
If Sarri successfully turns us into a well oiled attacking machine and his role in that machine is more of a finisher than a creator (the role he had in Madrid), then I expect him to score 35+ goals or so. Better than his current output but not as good as at Madrid's. If his fitness is identical to what it was despite the age difference, the quality of those feeding him is still very different. Our squad is quite good but Madrid's was just on another level.
I am expecting ~30 goals from him tbh. I expect age to affect him even if minimally. I expect the team to take a while to get used to the offensive game plan and that will affect his goals. I expect him to be affected by the decrease in quality of those surrounding him in the offensive phase, feeding him goals, compared to what he had in Madrid.
I dont expect him to jump ship now at all unless we win the CL this season. He might go to PSG at some point in the future to pad his stats again towards the end of his career (like Zlatan did) before heading over to the MLS. But not when the job isnt done.
None of the things highlighted above or in the article are news to him. He knew he was going into a defensive slow tempo team. He knew the level of quality surrounding him wont match prime Bale, Modric, Marcelo etc.. He knew serie A has more deep defensive teams. Our coach was Allegri when he joined so he knew exactly what type of football we played and how that will likely affect his goal scoring rate. None of this is a surprise to him like the article suggests. Its everything he already knew coming in.
