i knew right from the beginning that buying CR7 did not guarantee in any shape or form that we would be playing good football cause he isnt a player that improves general play, he is a player that capitalises on good play. Messi is in a similar set-up when he plays for Argentina where he has to drop to almost the halfway line to pick up the ball due their lack of midfielders and even he struggles to make much of an impact or improve the level of the team. He’d also struggle here too.

I saw this being mentioned in another forum. He’s been like that for over a 15-16 year career period. At 34, knocks and stray tackles can end up serious but he seems okay for the most part. He’s got to be one of the most durable players to ever play the game.
