Do you live there? My family moved from there to here generations ago. I hear that it is beautiful.
I live in Lisbon. This is my first time in Madeira. It’s amazing.

I hear his brother and mom who live at his house here know regular lowlifes who try to break in. Here’s my chance!

I doubt it’s better than Hawaii
I’ve honeymooned in Maui, been to Oahu, been twice to the Big Island. I honestly am more impressed with Madeira.

I am stalking his place from my hotel...

Nice! In doing a little research online it is similar to Hawaii except about 10-15 degrees cooler year 'round. The summer would be more comfortable there vs here. What is your favorite part about Madeira? Which was your favorite Hawaiian island?

Different strokes for different folks. I have heard from people here that have visited Madeira that it is beautiful. I am very happy where I am and don't see myself moving. That said Madeira definitely seems like a beautiful place as well.

I like it generally cooler, tbh. I’m not a sit-on-the-beach and be immobile in the sun kinda guy. They have that here though, but I am also here at Christmas.

Hawaii has active volcanoes going for it, but only on the Big Island. And the ridiculous frozen mountain tops too. But not many go to Hawaii for that. The beach sand is definitely better if that’s you’re thing. And surfing conditions are definitely better. And if you like premium lettuce grown by hippie dropouts who left California in the 70s because it got too popular, that’s a plus.

But Madeira has way better food, better outdoors, more waterfalls. In the urban parts it has better style, sophistication and architecture. It has way more history. It’s levada walks are fantastic hiking. The natural scenery here is more dramatic than Hawaii.

My favorite island in Hawaii has been the Big Island - variety, ruggedness, options. Here in Madeira it has a good city life in Funchal but also some crazy wilds on the north and west sides. So I don’t have a favorite part as much as how it works as an inclusive whole.

You can't compare Hawaii with any of the European / African islands.

The sheer remoteness of the Hawaiian islands is something else entirely.

The scenery is also something I've never seen anywhere else and especially on Oahu and Kauai there are places that feel like paradise (though if I had to choose, I'd much rather live on the Big Island). The lack of wildlife, again, is something that is very specific to Hawaii.

I’ve never felt more remote on the planet than I have at where my father-in-law’s family came from: the Caldeira de Santo Cristo on the island of São Jorge in the Azores.

Your inner Cronios is weak young grasshopper.

If it was sifu Cronios, he would already told us about CR7s bowl movements and how many times Georgina squated on his face.
If I was Cronios, I would be dead by now by throwing myself off a building after the Viola loss.

I doubt he’s jogging at the xmas eve.
Not that it matters that much, but it was Dec 23. And if you couldn’t tell, the guy doesn’t take an off day to drink beer, eat pizza, and watch Real Housewives.
