As great as it is having him here, I fear his purchase may have been a mistake due to the money required. €60M a year from the club is crazy money, I hope we still have some wiggle room.

I guess it could still work out in the long term, which is always better anyway.

Imagine going from Sir Alex, Mourinho, Zidane to Sarri? :inter:
Has nothing to do with the coach.

Ronaldo is the best header in history of football, and there's no one who can find him with a cross. Alex Sandro and Quadrado have shite crossing.

He's the best counter-attacking player in history, and he plays with Matuidi who can't control his legs.

This squad just doesn't suit him.

What a shock, he scored a really nice goal from a very quick direct move, not the slow, short passing build up cancer we have been subjected too.

All season we have looked better in transition, with the ball we are hopeless.

The Ronaldo effect is temporary. It'll go away when he leaves the club.

The only way to make this a worthy investment is to win CL. Now that would have long lasting effects.

I disagree. Now the big thing is fan retention which is built off attaching his fans to other players on our squad. For me I started watching because of Edgar Davids but very quickly Nedved became my favorite. At some point you start to be a fan of the team.

I dont think we are doing a great job of getting fans to stay with our play but also bringing in a top talent will help that a lot. I dont think its out of the realm of possibility

inda or bayern never had the slightest bump in popularity after they won the cl. they lacked the marketable star players for it.

psg never won anything internationally, still, their growth in jersey sales is immense. kids follow players rather than clubs.

You need money for long lasting results. You need players for results. You need marketable p[layers for money. Vicious circle but at least we are now on the merry-go-round instead of on the sideline hoping. Once we are big enough we can make big purchases regularly.

It's because they had CL success once. You gotta keep winning the competition alla Barcelona and Real Madrid to retain popularity. A rare CL win doesn't mean much. People forget quickly.
