I read he’s gone if we don’t qualify for CL. Is there any chance he stays even if we don’t? I know that financially he’s very burdening, but if we bring a good coach and fix our midfield, I’m positive we’re gonna do well next season. We can then extend him for another year just to give us another chance to compete for CL with him in our ranks.

Yes it's clear that (usually) you need quality all over the pitch to win the biggest trophies. It's just my opinion that a great midfield raises the level of a team more than a great forward line. I know it's only one year but look at this years CL finalists for example. City basically play without a striker with 6 midfielders and Chelsea had Kante putting in MoM performances in semis while they've an underperforming striker in Werner leading the line.

Forwards are the most overrated goddamn players on a football team. No one gets more credit for doing less work. I’m not saying they’re not valuable, but I’m not building around any of them. The midfield and back line are where games are won and lost imo. Just look at Juve in the past decade.
