so ~3 weeks before the end of the mercato and 9 days before the 1st match of the season:
- we have 4 goalkeepers, out of which 3 could start at many, many clubs
- we are missing a starter cb (unless we still want papa danilo to be paired with bremer), todibo seems to be gone and there aren't any alternatives at an advanced stage of negotiations, so a panic buy is expected
- we don't have too much depth at rb (is danilo a rb or a cb now?)
- the primary target (a good, but overpriced player) still hasn't signed
- there's almost a complete team of deadwood with a valid contract for next season (tek, mds, rugani, djaló, facundo, mckennie, arthur, hans, kostic, chiesa?, maybe i'm forgetting someone)
- winger situation is an especially huge mess, which is unacceptable considering motta uses them extensively
- vlahovic + milik looks pretty slim too, considering milik's injury record

i get that plenty must be done, it was never going to be easy, and the previous squad was terrible for juventus. but we're surely running out of time, and besides douglas luiz, neither of the new signings look like a clear upgrade.

i'm trying my best to not draw early conclusions

@JuveJay give us a balanced take, tuz needs it

You know it really fucks me off that we spent the last few days renewing the likes of Bremer and Savona, instead of just wrapping Todibo up.

If I had to make a brave pick now, I'd throw a cheeky loan bid for the unwanted Badiashile.

so he knew since last season that cb and wings and midfield was issue.

he had over a year to find targets.

he had since may when season ended to negotiate deals. he missed out on two first choice cbs.

instead he wasted an entire 2 months on 4th goalie. now a week away from season starting there is no rb, no cb, no wingers

Sure, but we didnt want that. Doesnt seem like we estimated his qualities high enough to tie ourselves to a deal. What has Todibo done to be worth +40m? There will be other opportunities before the end of a transfer window. So I dont see reason for panic.
moving the goal posts as i knew the throaters would do.

so now he isn't worth 40m just like calafriori wasn't worth it

but wasting 20m on a goal keeper who was not needed at all is ok.

todibo is/was about the money and formula, not about the lack of effort

the renewals are unrelated. it's not like giuntoli didn't have time for todibo because he was working on savona

Everyone reported that Giuntoli flew to Nice to finally get it all done yesterday and he did.. until today's news. It's strange.
It feels like we are working on way too many deals. Hard to sell half of the squad and bring so many guys in. With so much transfer activity many things will not work out the way we want.

Albanese says it was all about the sell on % that is really fucked up, sorry there is no defence for that.

Why did we even hire Giuntoli's side kick Pompillo? what does he do? makes the coffee?

let me understand something. he was nickle and diming cala and todibo and throaters saying it's ok. now missed out on both because of a few small millions

but 20m wasted on a position that was needed at all is ok.

It was always going to be a difficult strategy to pull off so many moves in one window.

So far it doesn't feel like he's capable of the basics like ensuring sufficient first team coverage for all positions, and time's quickly running out.

Pretty sure if he had the option to reload his save to the opening of the summer transfer window, he would take it.

Lack of decisiveness to just close the deal, because of that Todibo himself will only hold out for so long till he feel disrespected by Juve's lack of decisiveness.

Exactly he's been holding out for altleast 3-4 weeks. Might not seem long but if your the type of guy that wants your future sorted asap and keep hitting snags, eventually you're gonna give up.
