I find it kinda pathetic that he receives so much praise for making a 10m and a 20m sell at the 11th of august.

This isn’t my final judgement but I find this mercato very static and boring, things move very slow once again.

I think it's because there is no money circulating bar EPL. It's hard to sell when there's only like 25 clubs with a decent spending power in whole Europe. I'm hearing that people expect the things to accelerate in the last two weeks of the window when clubs will become desperate.

Well, it's pretty simple to see why. We have targets that are pretty damn hard to move, Giuntoli came in late and we only got our European disqualification a week or 2 ago... Lots of work to be done idd.

Maybe he is in a tough position to do anything dramatic this summer but him agreeing to anything that Max requests scares me. Get the best players you want and tell the 9M man to win with them. That's your job and his is to coach. Max hasn't shown anything to believe he knows what players to acquire for Juve to be most successful.

You want signings?
Well that obvious, but I’ve seen tweets and pictures of Guintoli with a crown, praising him that we only sell on our terms. Coincidentally shortly after my post we have the disappointing sell (both the player as the financial part) of Rovella. I guess I expected a bit more at this point of the mercato, let’s hope for better.

Do you understand how broke we are and the insanely massive squad we have right now? All while being in essentially one competition for the vast majority of the season.

You should have really set your expectations low for this mercato. It was always going to be about selling/loaning players out and consolidating what we have. The obvious aim is to keep our truly top players (Vlahovic and Chiesa essentially) aim to get back in the top 4 and CL money, and then from next season look to start being a bit more aggressive with squad additions.

For this current mercato,I’d much rather we keep our best players instead of adding more shit to this already bloated squad and further fuck ourselves financially.

As long as he doesn't listen to that jagoff in the bench.

Selling Zak for 20 mil and a percentage of future sale is an A+ move.

Selling rovella to lazio for anything less than 30 mil is an F no matter how broke. I rather sell him to 20 to sass than 25 to lazio.

Giuntoli Deal #3
  • Player: Koni De Winter
  • Type: loan with obligation to buy
  • To: Genoa
  • Detail: one year loan till 30 June 2024, Genoa have the right to definitely acquire the player's registration rights. If given sporting objectives are achieved, it becomes an obligation. 8m acquisition fee + bonuses up to 2m, payable in four years.
Grade: C+
Comment:
Huijsen did well in the US tour + no spot for him in the first team even if Bonucci is leaving + we are desperate for funds. Could be a bit regretful for not inserting a buyback clause in the contract.

imo Huijsen and De winter are competing for a cb spot. The former did well in the friendlies and we might keep him in the first team as the 6th cb after Bremer, Danilo, Gatti, Rugani and Sandro. That's why we are selling De Winter.

btw still think we should get rid of Sandro and give chances to youngsters. In that way we can keep both of them. Fuck the auto-renewal of the lolzilian.

Most probably it was pure business, but the optimist in my is trying to see this is an attempt to fix a broken relationship. We did business with everyone in the last 20 years, except Lazio.
After Nedved+Salas in 2001, we only got Lichtsteiner from Lazio, and it was only because he was in the last year of his contract and he forced them to sell. With the exception of the Caceres loan, and the Kovačević sale which was a part of that Salas+Nedved transfer, the last time they bought from us was in 1997 (Jugović+Bokšić).
In the meantime they sold Crespo, Stanković, Mihajlović, Zarate, Pandev, Candreva, Hernanes, De Vrij, Correa and Acerbi to Inter.

Man, a few years down the line, the polack will be gone (he's good but his bathtub is made from diamonds), MDS will be gone, Sandro will be gone and so many other contracts will have expired. Strange to think there will be a day when so much deadwood will be gone. Every team has 1-2 of these so of course we will have a new face we want to get rid off. But Pogba, MDS, Sandro, McKennie, Bonucci, Frabotta, Pellegrini, Pjaca and so many others that do not cut it like Kaio, Milik, Kean, Rugani, and so on. And with players with question marks like Hans, Junior, Soule, Rabiot. If we overlook the laughable financial aspect of Kean I still think he can be a decent backup player to have around, especially since he is HG. Rugani has been quite decent this past year or so but earnings are high. I think the new reduced contract is a good idea and it is sensible to have a backup CB around that accepts his role as backup. No other team can compete with our mercatos. Maybe Sampdoria.
But a few years down the line. They will be gone. They will be... gone.
I am upset with Rovella but said before I'd put my trust in Giuntuli. Still feel sorry for the bloke. His job may be one of the absolute challenging in the football world at the moment. Hopefully he can steer us onto a better path as graceful as possible.

Could be but issue I have is every move last few years has been purely business. Sad if we have to build a good relationship with Lazio. IMO only need good relationships with the lower level feeder teams for you. F Lazio, Inter, Roma, Milan. They need to cater to Juve.
