South Africa 5 for 231 (Dippenaar 74, Boucher 63*) beat Australia 228 (Hussey 73, Lee 57, Pollock 3-30) by five wickets

South Africa have finally taken the crucial step necessary to beat Australia and they did it despite a poorly timed rain interruption. Since the 1999 World Cup the Proteas have often had their southern hemisphere rivals in serious danger before letting them escape - often spectacularly - and today they faced a similar scenario until Mark Boucher and Justin Kemp pushed them to victory after a shower arrived with five runs and ten balls remaining.
wonderful match...good to see australia challenged!!

Sehwag played such a foolish shot. We were 3 runs short of the world record held by the another opening Indian pair. Damn, how could he play that shot when he was on the verge of breaking a 50 year old record. Anyway, 410 for the opening partnership is like the Indian bats opened a can of whoop ass on the Pak bowlers.

hmm, I think both sides bowlers have failed miserably. Aside from that run out, you had no luck with the ball either.

If that isnt a good performance, I'm sure 410 for the loss of 1 wicket certainly is.
Put it in context to the number of wickets they got, and dont forget the pitch either before drawing your Richie Benaud like conclusions. ;)

Draw is result, curator of pitch should be sacked....ok forget about this test wen does 2nd test start!
its on the 21st i think.im not sure though.

and the indians did bat brilliantly.410 for the loss of 1 wicket is great regardless of how good he wicket is.
but we got 679/7.
the indians got 410/1.

they were still 269 runs short, but 6 wickets to the good.anyway...comparing 410/1 and 679/7 isnt fair.comparing both of them when the indians would have eclipsed the pakistani score would have been more appropriate.

anyway, screw the drawn match.it was boring.i hope faisalabad has a better wicket and more competitive wicket.

lets hope the wicket is one of those typical dusty dry wickets that turn a mile and are hard to bat on after day 2!!
