FORZA DEL PIERO, they are younger, but it doesnt mean that they are better. they havent achieved what crespo has yet. and crespo was no different to gilardino at parma, in fact, crespo was even better.

he is established, gilardino has one good season. havent we taken enough risks with these types of players?
i don't think take these players is a risk.they are good and young.maybe u can say this about gila but there are 3-4 years that zlatan is playing at a high level in ajax and sweden NT and he deserves a greater club.

Gilardino, Torres and Ibrahimovic are very very promising, but Crespo is a man that has proven himself time and time again in Serie A, whether it be with Parma, Lazio or Inter. He isn't a stranger to scoring 20+ goals per season, and unlike Trez he actually gets involved in the build-up play and construction of goals.

I still want Gila or Zlatan, but making the transition to a big club isn't always easy for youngsters. I know that Kaka did it but he's special. In five years time he'll probably be the best player in the world. If we could get both Crespo and Gila, with Trez and DYO leaving, I would definitely go for it, but right now I think it would be better to keep Di Vaio, get Crespo and play him as our number one striker, and loan Gila to Palermo (he and Gasbarroni could gain a good understanding) or let him stay at Parma for one more year, just so that he can prove to us that he isn't a one year wonder.

Throwing Zlatan or Gila into the fire on their own, on such a big stage, is a huge gamble, no doubt about it. Having a healthy Del Piero, which in and of itself is a risk as well, playing next to these guys would be a huge benefit, though.

We can't have both Zlatan and Gila, that's being a little too selfish, and both of these kids are worthy of being feature players, you can't have one of them sitting on the bench on a regular basis, that would stunt their growth and possibly lead to chemistry problems.

The only way I could see it working is if DP is willing to move into a trequarista role in support of Zlatan and Gila, and if for some reason Nedved is still here, relegate him to a wing position. I realize I'm getting ahead of myself, just trying to find the right combination

Remember, I said that I'd get Gila and Crespo, not Gila and Zlatan. I agree, getting two promising youngsters such as Gilardino and Ibrahimovic would be ignorant as one of the two would have to sit on the bench. I would swoop for Crespo and Gila, play Hernan as our number one striker as said above, and loan out Alberto.

I didn't say that YOU said that, you ninny.:D I can't see Juve getting Gila and then loaning him out. How could anyone in their right mind do that to a 21 year old who is the 2nd leading scorer in Serie A??? That's a slap in the face to him. And getting both Zlatan and Gila MIGHT work, if DP could step into that support role. He would have to do what is best for the team, I guess.

    Agree Stuart!
IMO something like that could be possible:

    Buffon
    Chimenti

    Trabelsi---Thuram---Mexes---Zambrotta
    Tudor---Legrottaglie---Ferrara---Birindelli + Iulianio

    Camoranesi---Tacchinardi---Maresca---Nedved
    Kapo---Blasi---Appiah---Van der Vaart + Conte

    Crespo---Del Piero
    Di Vaio---Miccoli

Thats just the squad, no formation! Not bad for me, and possible

Mexes would come cheap, because of his buyout clause
Trabelsi would come for free. He would even sue Ajax to go for free. Thats what the news say.
    Blasi would come from loan.
    Kapo is for free.
    Crespo too.

So the only big buy would be Van der Vaart, who would change Juve! An offense with Del Piero, Crespo, Nedved, Van der Vaart is what every manager dreams of!

The only problem is that we are still very weak in the defensive midfield department.

DP isn't very good as a trequartista imo. I'd sooner have him play on the left like he does for Italy.

Definitely. Which is why we need Didier Deschamps. :D
I think Deschamps isn't as fast as he used to be, he's getting a bit old. I'd prefer a younger replacement :D:p
