on paper we don't have "big" names.....but i think we have the following advantages:
1. we signed players with something 2 prove
2. unlike Roma,Milan,Inter,Fiorentina n Lazio, we will not have any European
distractions;so our players play less games n remain fresher
it's going 2 be difficult,but it's definitely not impossible
What do you mean we don't have big names?

You shouldn't take our stars for granted

How many of the biggest teams wouldn't give an arm or a leg for Del Piero, Buffon, Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Nedved...etc

I think it's possible for Juventus to win the Scudetto next season, barring any serious or lengthy injuries of course. As long as everyone plays like they're supposed to, they've got pretty good odds. If only everything were that ideal... :D

If we merit by the chance the bookmakers are giving is, for example :
Inter 2.40, Milan 2.60, Juventus 6.00, Roma 9.00, Fiorentina 34.00 and so on...we will end up third at end. But considering the fact that we will only play Coppa (probably with youngsters) and Seria A, finishing 1 or 2 seems very likely to me.

Names mean nothing really. It's all about the team chemistry and spirit (however cheesy that may sound).

About the question, yeah I think Juve could win it. We've won the scudetto with weaker squads before ;)

Juve is Juve!

Perhaps this is just speculation, but I was just thinking, if we compare our current squad with the 2005/2006 one. We lost 6 “pillars” due to the scandal:

Thuram: In his last two years he seemed to run out of steam and was kind of sluggish, I will never forget his recklessness against Lazio. Andrade would probably fill his shoes.

Vieira: Was a flop and didn’t really live up to his Highbury days, Tiago or Marchisio could fill his role.

Zlatan: Was more of a liability in his last year, Palladino and Iaquinta would probably do a better job.

Emerson: We don’t really have a replacement, but Zanetti + Gianni would probably do a reasonable job.

Zambrotta: Not replaced, but a versatile mix of Chiellini, Zebina, Salih, and Grygera would be really helpful.

Canna: A big loss, and this position seems the only position we are deeply lacking. But we had a great summer transfer campaign so far, and you never know who might sign up.

We def. got more depth this year, with Almiron, Cristico, Molinaro, Palladino, Marchisio, and Iaquinta. Whereas two years ago, the only real talent on the bench was Mutu and Trez/DP.

So am I being totally ridiculous or we actually have a team that could rival the 2005/2006 team? A team that led Serie A with a 9 point gap for most of the season?

What do you think?
in midfield and in attack we didnt loose much, but in defens we did. thuram might have made mistakes but his not a boumsong, is he:sick: then again, thuram is 35 years old. the thing is we lost our entire key defens, beside canna and thuram also versatile zambro. ofcourse now we can regroup our defens and make it younger but you dont usually replace your entire backline in the same time.

And then there`s always the question will the new siginings settle in.

But i would like to add, that before all the scandals and etc, we were mainly thinking of finding a replacement for nedved in the near future, now we had to/have to spend money on other signings and a new attacking midfield force might not be signed this season.

One of the biggest losses imo was mutu as well. Capello never gave him the chanse, sticking with his 4-4-2 so he never showed his real value.

In my opinion, if we sign a decent CB or two then we would have a squad that is up for winning the scudetto. The left will be mostly on the coach to prep them properly for games and in match tachtics. If we sign both Andrade and Barzagli and keep Legro along side Cristico + Grygera, Zebina, Chiellino and Milnaro We have then a very good back. If Neddy and Maoro decide to stayand we do not sell marchisio, Salihamdic, Zanetti then we have a decent midfield when we add to them Almiron and Tiago. Offense we are covered well.
So I think yeh.. Why not... But I don't want to be too optimistic, Ranieri hasn't won anything big before. So I'll wait on my judgements.

I think we definetely CAN win the scudetto , but that's not really the question . its will we win the scudetto ? many new names in the team , new coach , therefore team chemistry is questionable .
there is a cetain possibility that juve even with this team potentially win this year or at least come very close .
my only doubt is the unfammiliarity and the lack of squad depth comapered to other teams ; milan , inter .
that worries me

We will come 4th. Milan 1st, Inter 2nd, Roma 3rd, Juve 4th.

Our back 4 are questionable. Our Midfield is possibly the best in Italy and our Striking core is questionable as well.

trez - 20+ in serie A
iaquinta at least 15 in serie A
Del piero about the same
then there is the likes of camo who get quite a few, and im sure tiago and almiron will get a few, and not to forget chiellini who seems to be banging them in of late, i think we are superior to roma, i dont see what roma have that we are weaker in. 3rd is a very minimum, 1st is not unrealistic tho

It is not the best in Italy at all....

Better than Milan? or Inter?

I hate Inter, but seriously, that is just dumb, plus think of the players that have to fit in to Italy and the system.
