Coronavirus cases spiking massively in Florida. June 13th was first day over 2500, and gone over that again last two days, plus a record high of +3200 today. Seven day rolling average up to 2200 new cases/day from 1200 a week ago.

Wonder if NBA restart plans going to be put in danger by this.
wonder what would happen if players started testing positive again. A big part of the lockdown was because of gobert, an NBA player

Local governments cannot mandate masks or else...
Flyover state republicans are quite something.
I get it, it just doesn’t make sense

Having lived in TX for so long this makes total sense to me. Republicans governors really like to flex their muscles against often more liberal cities.

why would anyone be against mask requirements? Its such a low effort requirement that could potentially save six figures in lives while allowing us to reopen sooner.

I can completely understand the anger over an enforced shutdown but get a goddamn mask FFS

Because you'll scare people.

Because it feels funny.

Because you'll look like an Asian, and that's emasculating.

Etc., etc.

Also because they really don't think it's as serious a threat as they are told it is (many of these people were more comfortable accepting the additional security steps in the airports because they felt the threat was real although the latter is much more annoying than wearing masks).

Agreed in general when it comes to shopping, driving with the metro or train, BUT summertime is coming up and you'll be barely able to breath under those shitty masks the average pleb gets to wear. For people working physical jobs it's terrible, even for those at the supermarkets for example.

Don't know bout the rest of germany, but in Bavaria those plastic shield masks (which would be WAY better for workers) aren't allowed.

Yea I didn't say it was going to be foolproof or even easy but what is the alternative again?

More shutdowns? no thanks.
