I’m guessing we would eventually evolve past it via immunity and time, it would be fairly normal but probably still a part of life
The fact is no one understands how respiratory infectious diseases work, can't even exactly determine how they are spread, let alone how long they will last or how often they reoccur. At this point, everyone is just trying to milk this to push their agenda.

That's true, this thing could wipe us all out or it could become just another cold. I guess that's why we didn't elect the WHO to run our countries. Amiright?

The article is also playing word games. It mentions that smallpox is the only disease eradicated so far. While that may be true, there are thousands of diseases that have been brought down to a level where they are not a threat to anyone in the world.
There is no nuance left in journalism anymore, or for any medium of public discourse for that matter.

The flu is hit or miss to be fair.
Depends on the strain or strains in a particular season. I guess the point is a vaccine could work or not work, could solve the problem, might not solve the problem. The WHO is definitely sucking at their job atm. Obviously there's always a plan b, but the the alarmism is totally unnecessary.

We're in uncharted territory, people don't generally do well with that. On some level, I can't blame them.
