It's amazing how Spain, UK, USA did not learn anything from Italy. 917 dead today in UK.
What can one learn? I’ve heard from a good source that getting it is inevitable, and not getting it all at once is just a matter of good fortune. Flattening the curve through social distancing and lockdown measures is a myth, it’s actually just blind luck. :boh:

Man, corona will bring a whole another dimension of fear once this stops. This shit will totally shift the society. In the end they will even ask us to fuck from distance.

In another article (more trustworthy) I've seen it also mention 4 meters

2 meters enough for social distancing? MIT researcher says droplets carrying coronavirus can travel up to 8 meters

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-04-meters-social-distancing-mit-droplets.html
There’s a counter argument in that article from a UofW infectious disease professor pointing out that the important part is not how far the germs can travel in the air but how far they can travel before they are no longer a threat. He says the large sort of droplets they still believe are transmitting the virus (by carrying enough “virions” to get a foothold in the body) can only travel a couple metres.

I'm of course not saying we handled this well, but the Unites States has a population size of like 5 times greater than Italy, so that was always going to happen.
Of course. I hardly doubt anyone expected 1000 deaths or something like that.

But when you look at Trump's statements when corona thing started invading Europe and even starting awakening in the US, you can't help but think how the damage could've been avoided by a big amount had they taken everything seriously from the beginning. When shit hits the fan on such a huge scale it's rather impossible to stop it, just soften it, so it's the beginning stage that looked like shit and it's reflecting how. It will only get worse in the next 2 weeks too. Then another month of going down probably. So overall numbers are gonna look piss poor.

Indeed. Europe has been failing more miserably than USA so far. As much as it pains me to say it Italy, Spain and France are failing like third world countries and blame the others for their shortcomings.

Of course, this is what I meant. The man called it a hoax in the beginning, we knew we were doomed from the start.

Do they at least have an adequate amount of ppe? Because we sure as hell don't.

We got people risking their lives in the frontline, which includes my wife, doing what all the best minds in the world are telling them is the right thing to do now and this Sociopath motherfucker from the internet who doesn’t know shit says it’s just down to good fortune?? Fuck this guy, seriously. Had enough of his bullshit.
Dude, wtf.

Both my parents are doctors. My girlfriend is running tests on the virus in the lab every single day. Many people are exposed, you little princess.

What I'm pointing out is that it's simply impossible to contain.

According to this guy who’s a pandemic expert, these are the pandemic stages:
1- containment
2- mitigation (measures to stop hospital from overflowing)
3- second stage of containment before finding a treatment
4- third stage of containment before vaccine
5- back to normal
According to him we're on second stage now.

Yeah, I get that and it seems very reasonable.

But what I was trying to say is that the scientists who are actually handling the virus are saying they have never seen anything like it. The velocity with which it spreads is insane. Apparently a lot of them are scared they will be infected because it's that crazy.

These are people who work with ebola, so it's not like they're easily scared. They know that under normal circumstances their safety measures are enough.

And that's why, to me, it seems an impossible task to keep it from spreading.
