The way I'm looking at it is: do you think Connecticut is better equipped to handle large numbers of sick than New York? And then once those additional resources start getting produced, would they go to CT before NY?

Bigger question is, unless he is tested negative, its dicey to travel to elderly parents and risk infecting them.

Hey, people. Shacked up at home with the old folks for the next few months. Going to make sure they get through this safely. There couldn't be a worse place to be right now than social media, namely twitter. I hope it's better here.

Hope everyone is well, staying indoors and taking every precaution. Don't be stupid or careless. Call out neighbours who are.

The irrationality and carelessness on display says a lot about our societies. E.g. the senseless panic buying. Bondi beach was packed yesterday - it's closed today but people are still defying the order to stay away and jumping the fences. I've seen similar images of spring breakers in Florida. There are still people here at the park watching their kids play on the monkey bars and people dining in restaurants.

A man was coughing violently into the air and into his hands on my train earlier this week. Wiping his nose with his hankey and proceeding to touch every hand rail and button on the carriage. I wanted to knock him out but he had a bit of a dead arm in a brace, so I didn't know if he was all there or not. Needless to say, stupidity and a lack of civic duty will kill many. Sadly we need to coerced into looking after ourselves and our neighbours.

Petrol stations are one of the worst places for catching this during a lock down - make sure you use the disposable gloves or even the paper towels when touching the dispenser.

Everything is shuting down here, people were advised to stay at homes. But if this wasnt enough early in the morning the city was hit with 5.5 earthquake, then 5.0 half an hour later and there are tremors every half an hour, so now people are advised to go out again... A lot of buildings have been damaged since this morning, nothing catastrophic for now but awareness is at all time high.

Lock-down in Bangkok. No more fun, games, and entertainment. Everything has shut down, at least until the 12th of April. It's pretty depressing, but I guess it was inevitable and is probably the correct course of action to undertake.

Only pharmacies, supermarkets, fresh markets and take-out/delivery restaurants are allowed to stay open during this period (hospitals, banks, and hotels too obviously).

While China should not be absolved of responsibility, and while I definitely do not condone or endorse the actions of the commies and their disgusting institution, I'd like to remind everyone that China isn't doing anything different from what the good old Western imperialists used to do back in the day, or the US more recently. Short term memories and people with white man privilege it seems. Only because it's hurting you guys now are you starting to complain about it - hypocritical much? :boh:

Still big troubles in Italy. There have 8000 doctors who applied to go help in the south while one of them is even 85 year old. Young guys from high school got their diplomas early so they can go help in the hospitals. They lack doctors and can't handle the situation. Obviously one of the big problems was Atalanta - Valencia that was played in February and had 40k+ people. Apparently they are starting to use one respirator for two people which was/is the case only during the war. Sadly, the peak in Lombardy still hasn't kicked in. One of the worrying news is that virus is spreading and is now quite close to Milano which might turn into another disaster as the city has 1.5 million people population. According to reports from GPS movement of people it seems that people in Milano are quite careless as 40% of the regular movement is still happening over there.

I also heard trouble about the economy. This goes for everyone, not just Italy. Everyone expect a huge meltdown (which is already happening) but it seems many countries are having debate whether they should completely shut down the economy for a shorter period of time or they should keep like 30% of it but extend the period of these measures in order to keep the economy alive a bit.

it is nearly impossible to deal with them. some grandpa here said ''i drink blabla tea, i live healthy, nothing will happen to me. time does not pass in home, i fight with my wife if i sit inside'' then he pulled out a knife and chased people who were trying to warn him.

unfortunately they won't understand the fact, time also does not pass in intensive care, watching the ceiling, before experiencing it.
