This MF is really nasty. Not only it is far more deadly than the flu but also more contagious.
It will be very hard to stop it.

Is this real? How is this even fucking possible? What a goddamn shit show this is, just when I was giving him some credit too.
Why would you? The shitbird is a habitual, perpetual, impulsive liar. At this point, if you believe anything that comes out of his mouth, that's on you, not on him.
Just look at the latest example - said a bunch of things, while the cameras were on, and then 10 min later the flipbacks started coming in, dressed up as "clarifications".
In time, virtually 100% of what he said last night will prove to be a lie, be it deliberate or compulsive.

I am sure the UK exemption has nothing to do with the golf courses and other "investments" Trump has there.
It's not like Trump has ever put personal financial interests above national interests and security, like for example, appointing his entire inbred family to vital positions within the administration.

What bothers me the most about this entire situation is that the authorities completely dropped the ball. If I look at statements from my own local authorities & specialists no more than 10 days ago, then there was no problem at all: no need to exaggerate, it's not that serious, we are prepared & can handle it, no reason to do anything special, ...

That narrative sure has changed over the past few days.

Same in the UK. Basically wash yours hands but everything goes on as normal. Only today I noticed that things were a bit more alarmist.

Since the outbreak I have been hearing about the peak in May and I was thinking that it's ok since it will soon start going towards the better. Until today I was talking with a friend of mine who works at WHO and what is being said there is that the peak will be next winter.

Scary shit.

More alarmist how? What are the next suggestions?

It started off slowly here as well and it did change over the past couple of days too but I can't say it's a huge difference. It's like "avoid public meetings, big groups of people, wash your hands more often and stop shaking hands, etc.

IMO it's literally impossible stop the virus. It pretty much floats around your body for 7 days and it can hit you any time without noticing. That day you may enter dozens of buses and walk around hundreds of people infecting them passively. They say cancel schools, concerts, matches but we still see millions of people going to work where everything can happen.

To me the only thing to stop doing would be stop shaing hands. Washing hands is not a new thing to me while I don't really go outside touching my face and mouth. Those "to do" and "not to do" things seem ridiculous to me since I consider all of those things quite normal.

During winter we see bacteria dying, but doesn't summer/heat kill the whole thing?

It does but as you know (I hope you are not a flat earther) that Earth does not heat up in all regions at the same time. If WHOs estimation is that the pandemic will peak next winter I have to trust them as they know more than all of us.

End of this year seems to be the consensus. So start of the next winter period for Europe.

Just the general perception that it isn't just 'those Chinese and useless Itais' problem but something that can and will travel the world, it already has and if you follow the trends we will be seeing this in temperate countries for most of the first half of the year, with the rest tbc.

Businesses are already closing in Italy and that will be the same wherever it takes a foothold.

Btw you'd be surprised how often the average person touches their face or mouth, it's a subconscious thing. Anyway, if you know a little about bacteria and take it to the nth degree you'd walk around in a hazmat suit because there is disgusting stuff on so many public and personal items and surroundings, plus all the shit in the air. But that's the thing, people with regular immune systems deal with those, and others take anti-biotics. This can't be stopped with current medicine, which is why people in the latter category have cause for concern.
