Hm, Sali as RB. To be honest, defensivly he is weaker than offensivly, and when he was playing at RM prefomanse was below average. But, in this moment he is bether than Pala as RM.
Well he`s better then Biri i guess and I am not so confident to put Grygera on the right against Inter and someone also said that Grygera is suspended so...I am so happy to see Sali there as well but anyway I prefer him over Birindelli.

birindelli has been alright in the ganes i've seen him play. well, better than sailhamidzic at least. and defensively, he's a better option. since we don't need to score urgently but we really don't want to concede, i'd go with birindelli.

Belardi
Grygera - Legrottaglie - Stendardo - Molinaro
Salihamidzic - Nocerino - Zanetti - Nedved
Trezeguet - Del Piero

No need to be overly adventurous as they need to score and we don't necessarily have to. I'm not saying to sit back and let Inter come at us because that would be paramount to suicide but we need to limit the amount of space we give them.
IMO we shouldn't sit back whatsoever because nobody knows how our defense will fair with any side, let alone Inter. We will have to take the initiative and score a couple times because there is no way we are shutting out Inter's strikeforce. I think we can get a good result out of this provided we don't sit back, letting Inter run at us. That's why I still believe that the 4-3-3 is the best way to go as Iaquinta up top is a better option than anything we have right now on the right wing. Let Nocerino, Zanetti and Nedved sit a little bit more centrally and keep Inter's fullbacks at bay with Iaquinta and Del Piero on the sides.

Of course Ranieri will play with the 4-4-2 though so my analysis is pointless.

    Things we should focus on

-not allowing Inter to have ball possession, even if they're in-need of goals.

-I don't think playing more than two attackers in this game would be helpful, like Stu said, we shouldn't give them much space.

-Nedved should play the same role he played vs Livorno behind the attackers more.

But by playing three strikers you make their fullbacks hold back more and may even bring back their wingers if we're causing them enough trouble, so it works both ways. And besides we have Nocerino who usually drifts out right to make tackles on the opposition in the place of our winger who is usually caught up field. What's the difference? Palladino and Marchionni cannot defend anyway... that's why Nocerino is always over there.

True, but I'm afraid with the new Stendo things could go bad. I wasn't pointing there at the 4-4-2, I wouldn't mind Nedved to be the third choice attack/playmaker... but playing all Iaquinta, Trezeguet and Del Piero when our opponents need at least a goal in tomorrow's game is a bit risky IMO.

something like this would be safer and also a threat to our opponents defence.

    Belardi

    Birindelli - Legro - Stendo - Molinaro

    Salihamidzic - Nocerino - Zanetti

Del Piero - Trezeguet - Nedved

That I agree with. I think that making them play at a different tempo will do us a great good, seeing as they like to control the game.

I think that we should have one defensive midfielder this game, playing just ahead of the defense.
