so del piero got the decider. thats good. sorry i didnt watch the game but did we play well.?
You're joking, right?

Well, we played a great 20 minutes. Chiellini came off with an injury, and the defense and midfield went to crap.

Iaquinta was bravely trying to hold everything together for us in the second half, and DP came on to pitch in too. Whew.

the defense was absolutely shocking...Empoli is the worst attacking team in Serie A and they scored 3 in Turin...very bad situation

That's not so shocking as the fact that Empoli played without 8 first team players !
Add Giovinco and Saudati in their attack and this match could have easily eneded 6:6.

Marchionni was excellent today. I dont see why he doesn't get a bigger role in the team he is always great when he plays. This was a very strange football match Juve could have had 8 or 9 goals if not for some embarrasing misses. The defence was awful. Molinaro was killed out on the flank and Boumsong was terrible.

When in form Marchionni is a great player. the reason he does not get a bigger role is he has terrible luck with injuries. Lets hope he can stay fit and be decisive for us in the 2nd half.

Boumsong was not too good but played a bit better towards the end of the game. Maby with time he will play himself into some form. He played fairly well in preseason but then injured him self.

I was shocked by the misses from Ale and Sali but lets hope it will make them a bit sharper in Serie A. We got away with it today.

At HT it was clear we needed some type of spark, but because of injury and suspension, the best we could do was bring on Brazzo for Tiago (who was invisible yet again). Poor choice by Ranieri. I would have brought in Del Piero, played him behind Palladino and Iaquinta, with Nedved and Marchionni as the 2 attacking wide players. The management are fooling themselves if they think we dont need any1 in January. A player like Giovinco would be very useful.

Gyrgera was horrible. Terrible marking on all 3 goals. Boumsong was shit as well and Molinaro looked lost. Birindelli was the least bad of the 3, but he didn't really contribute much, he just made fewer errors compared to the other 3.

The goal where Molinaro was outpaced for the cross, that could have been avoided had Boumsong and Molinaro not gone after the same guy. Boumsong should have pressured the player with the ball, while Molinaro covered his tracks, which would have taken care of the player running down the side line. Its elementary defending, and at that level, those types of errors should never happen.

If Chiellini or Legro get injured, we screwed. Conceding 3 goals to Empoli at home is pathetic.

Iaquinta and Nedved were MOTM. Marchionni was impressive as well, but he faded in and out of the game after a very good opening 20 minutes.

marco played well. as did iaquinta. also boumsong and grygera sucked balls. pur defense was horrible. were just luck our attack is good enough to make up for it. del piero's penalty was nearly identical to the one against catania.

Claudio Ranieri did not have many reasons to smile despite seeing his team Juventus qualify to the quarter finals of the Coppa Italia with a 5-3 win over Empoli.

"We started well, but suddenly with [Giorgio] Chiellini's injury we turned off the light, and they took advantage of that," he said after the game. "If it goes well, he'll be out for only a month."

On the defensive department, which certainly did not perform very well today, he said: "We made many mistakes in defence, and I will show the videos of the goals to my players. But we also missed a lot of chances up front."

Inevitably, he also was asked about Tiago, who seeems ever closer to leaving the club soon after being substituted at half time for the second consecutive time.

"I didn't like the way he played, I expected more from him. Often he hid and instead of playing the ball forward he played it backwards," Ranieri concluded.
ranieri aint happy.

I don't know why are some members throwing shit at Belardi, he is not to be blamed for anything. Surely Gigi would've lead those retards better and probably even keep the clean sheet, but comon that's Buffon... I think he has spoiled us :D

 Oh man, it's even funnier reading it again and thinking what it would be like to read this forum 2-3 years ago with a post like this.

Like a voice from the future saying, "You know, if Chiellini or Molinaro get injured, we're screwed."
