MALAYSIAN Indian Football Association will be sending a squad of 23 players and eight officials to compete in the 59th Copa Carnevale Viareggio in Italy from Feb 5-19.

The 23 players were selected from the recent Piala Datuk S. Samy Vellu.

MIFA are grouped with Juventus, CA Juventud and Palermo.

Italy’s oldest tournament is only for players below 20 and 45 clubs from around the world are competing.

"We started training in December and we hope the players will do well as this is the first time a Malaysian team is competing in Italy," said MIFA president S. Vel Paari yesterday.

The team leave for Italy on Thursday.

I read that Paolucci did very well in last 3 Viareggio cups .. and i think he was the top scorer in last 2 years ..

here is a pics for Criscito in 2004 Viareggio against Inter .. we won that game 3-1 Paolucci scores 2 goals and Volpato scores one ..
