Pretty much sums it up. Good post.

There is also a element of margins and luck involved here , especially considering the trophies both players have achieved which is often the biggest way people measure players.
i am not a big fan of both and actually i don't enjoy much their style of game play. but Ronaldo amazes me with moments of being surrounded by hopelessness and people losing trust in his team.

note: i enjoy slower elegant style of players like the 90's with some innovative creative dribbles.

Zidane, Del Piero, Pirlo, Aimar, Pogba, Roy Costa, Camoranesi, Dennis Bergkamp etc...

For me Ronaldo is the hero's journey in a football player. Just like "Fat Ronaldo" was as well.

i have one opinion about messi and ronaldo bullshit, even though am not a big fan of these duality of these individuals.

just my humble opinion.

Messi is a one the greatest players in what he does. but lets be clear the guy he creates 99% goal chances every match in a very high rate. this is his job. and he is the best in doing this.

i would say the same for pirlo, pirlo is more a genius of messi because he gives the team 99% goal chances every game to score goals, playing in more difficult position to do so.

but players like Pirlo and Messi they depend on the fuckin' the player who receives the ball in order to convert the last 1% into a goal.

then we have Ronaldo, and here is the twist. Ronaldo on the other hand. he could play with bunch of retards and only needs 1% chances to convert the 99% by himself into a goal.

Ronaldo is just a smart hard working dude who knew how to make the difference and worked his ass to perfect this 1%. messi is the greatest player in his position. but his super powers stops on others. even though sometimes he is able to do all the work by himself. but not all the time.
There is also another difference:

Cristiano doesn’t need to be the “creator” of game in a team. If you look his stats, he doesn’t touch the ball more than 30 times. This are a striker stats. But this is, in my opinion, a virtue more than a deffect. Most of the big players want to be protagonist, want to have the posession of the ball. Cristiano don’t need that, he just touch the ball and run to the area (where he is the greatest and more intelligent player with no doubts of the history). This makes the team more confident of themselves. Maybe it’s sounds stupid, but it is true. They can play without the pressure of making protagonist or depending on someone else to create football. So CR7 not only makes the 1% into 99% as you said but he also gives the opportunity to other players to be more protagonis and give theire best. Messi no. Messi never had a bad team in Argentina as everybody says. Yes, Barça team is better, true. But Argentina is not a bad team. Agüero, Di Maria (nowadays, yes he is a disaster), Otamendi, Armani, Lo Celso, Mascherano, Riquelme, Zanetti, Verón, Milito, Lautaro Martinez and more good players have played with him in the national team. This creates another difference: CR7 can play in any style of football: posession, counter-attack, deffensive style, direct play, etc. Messi can not do that cause of his style of play.

Maybe my arguments are stupid, but i only know we have an incredible instrument for our team and we need this year, yes or yes, to use it well. Hope Sarri (still don’t like him) knows how to use him well.

What the fuck are you talking about? What behavior? Do you see me attacking on Argies in general? Or the ones who are members here? This is not about Argentina, although as said before to beat them is a must, it’s about Messi. One player. Not Argentina or the people there from. It’s about the most overhyped player of all time (the only “all time” award I’ll give him), and how he whines and finds excuses for his shit performances and failures. Retiring and coming back? Twice? Get the Fuck out of here.

Besides a strong Argentina means a better shot at bringing a WC trophy to SA once again, because no other SA NT will even get close if it’s not us or them... Or at the very least a tougher competition in this tournament for us.
Dude, it's Seven.

He'll always come up with shit like that.

Its like Sir Alex said years ago that you can stick Ronaldo in huddersfield, millwall or any rubbish team and he will score hatricks becauses hes two footed, quick, beast in the air and brave etc. you dont need to change ur whole team or system to fit ronaldo in, you cant do that with messi he needs a certain system and to hog the ball as much as possible . Messi could never come here and play with a striker like mario for example.

Why is Pogba being mentioned between Zidane, Pirlo, Bergkamp?
why not?
i like pogba, he entertains me and he has his super wow moments.. great player!!
he is one of the rare players of today's generation to remind me of this 90's era.

i like fighter players also like Vidal, Davids. the gangster type of players.

if there's a player who's capable of creating the game better than ronaldo is, let me know. and no, messi with a ball doesn't create even half of what ronaldo creates without the ball, it can be proved just by looking at how much every player spends the time with the ball compared to without. if ronaldo spends 95% of the game without the ball, he has way more time to create space with his runs, with his movement, with his presence and so on compared to messi, who has the ball let's say 10% of the game. there's no way you can pass the ball to anybody if they're standing still, that off the ball movement creates things and with the ball, you execute it. on top of that, ronaldo is best at executing those chances with the 5% he spends on the ball.

simple as that.
