There is also another difference:
Cristiano doesn’t need to be the “creator” of game in a team. If you look his stats, he doesn’t touch the ball more than 30 times. This are a striker stats. But this is, in my opinion, a virtue more than a deffect. Most of the big players want to be protagonist, want to have the posession of the ball. Cristiano don’t need that, he just touch the ball and run to the area (where he is the greatest and more intelligent player with no doubts of the history). This makes the team more confident of themselves. Maybe it’s sounds stupid, but it is true. They can play without the pressure of making protagonist or depending on someone else to create football. So CR7 not only makes the 1% into 99% as you said but he also gives the opportunity to other players to be more protagonis and give theire best. Messi no. Messi never had a bad team in Argentina as everybody says. Yes, Barça team is better, true. But Argentina is not a bad team. Agüero, Di Maria (nowadays, yes he is a disaster), Otamendi, Armani, Lo Celso, Mascherano, Riquelme, Zanetti, Verón, Milito, Lautaro Martinez and more good players have played with him in the national team. This creates another difference: CR7 can play in any style of football: posession, counter-attack, deffensive style, direct play, etc. Messi can not do that cause of his style of play.
Maybe my arguments are stupid, but i only know we have an incredible instrument for our team and we need this year, yes or yes, to use it well. Hope Sarri (still don’t like him) knows how to use him well.
