I have been saying this for a while but its about time FIFA did something about using video evidence in big tournaments.
Football is a low scoring game, and 1 refereeing error like this determines the winner. I don't see why that for every goal scored, the game continues while the video evidence is assessed and the goal annulled if it is determined that the goal was illegitimate. This can happen while the game continues and would only take a minute or two anyway.
Also, I would go a step further and allow each team 2 appeals for any disallowed goals or penalty decisions.
To me this is common sense and should not slow the overall flow of the game.
