I think Criscito will be back,but he would probably be used in the left back position to be back up for De ceglie more than he would be used as a centre back..

Criscito puts Genoa over Juve

Azzurrini defender Domenico Criscito has confessed that he would rather stay at Genoa than return to Juventus when his loan deal expires.

Criscito impressed for the Grifone in Serie B and his performances persuaded Juventus to buy his full rights in January.

However, the 21-year-old didn’t look at home in the Bianconeri shirt and fell out of favour with Claudio Ranieri, leading to him being sent back to Genoa on loan.

“I am working to improve in terms of power and I am becoming more ruthless,” he told Secolo XIX.

“In Serie A, strikers are more physical as well as better technically. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for example, is one of the strikers who has troubled me most.

“Six months on the bench at Juventus certainly helped me to grow on a personal level.

“It was an important chapter. It helped me to develop and understand the way you have to suffer to get to the top.

“But if both sides made the same offer for me, I would go for Genoa.”

The goal should have been disallowed but it changes nothing because when Totti got the ball, Criscito was in front of him and he still made a complete fool out of him.
And that's not the only episode. Against Cagliari he was owned by every single attacker the Sardinians have and that's why he was subbed at half time. Against Parma he played as LB and we were literally tortured from that side until Ranieri decided to switch his place with Chiellini.
He was a real disaster for us and he's not any better in Genoa.

Btw, Criscito played regularly in September and he was on the bench in OCT, NOV and DEC. That's 3 months, not 6 as he's saying.

Obviously , it wasn't just that that made me lose faith in him but it was a big help . He never really impressed me to be honest , and I was just waiting for at least one big game for him to prove me wrong , I thought it would be the Roma game , instead he really disappointed me and that's when I was convinced he isn't ready for Juve .

Besides that , he lacks the power and the grit of a top class Serie A defender , he seems a little too timid . A quality that doesn't suit a CB at all . He wasn't good enough at all for me , and really had a number of shit games with Juve .

Additional to Grygera, Mellberg and Chiellini we need De Ceglie back and the arrival of a world class central back four player in Andrade fails to recover.

Cannavaro's debut in Serie A came on 7 March 1993, at the Stadio Delle Alpi in Turin for a game against Juventus.He played his first game in Serie A when he is 20.
He played just 58 games between 1992-1995.

He wasn't too different than Criscito when he was 21.

It is totally unfair to judge a player on his first 6 months in Serie A, especially when it is a young player.

Give him another year on loan to muscle up a bit and he will be ready.

He is clearly an intelligent player, he just lacks the physique to back it up at the moment.

Yes , some players shine late on in their careers but you can't follow that logic because it's ridiculous . If we did follow your logic then it we would have to buy every single 21 year old in Italy despite how bad they are because one day they might be like Cannavaro .

Cannavaro was an expection , so was Luca Toni . However , only a handful of players have shined late on in their carreers , that's why they are called exceptions , not everyone is like that .
