Almiron turns down Palermo
Saturday 3 May, 2008

Sergio Almiron does not look set for a return to Juventus, but he has rejected a move to Palermo outright.

The former Empoli midfielder was something of a flop in his six months in the Bianconeri jersey and is currently on loan at Monaco.

There are reports that Almiron is of interest to Palermo and could go to Sicily either on loan or in a permanent move.

“My assistant has had no contact with Palermo and there is nothing true to those rumours he has a deal with the Rosanero club,” insisted agent Claudio Vagheggi.

“In fact, I wish to point out that Almiron has received several offers from clubs that will be in the Champions League next season.”
How can he turn down Palermo when there hasn't been contact
Stupid journalists.

I like the last sententc, though, that could mean we will get some reasonable money for him.

Blasi Tells Juve: I Want To Stay At Napoli

Napoli midfielder Manuele Blasi has told co-owners Juventus that he wants to sign a permanent deal with the Partenopei.

The Rome-born midfielder signed for Napoli last summer on a co-ownership deal from Juventus, and he has had a fine season, making 26 Serie A appearances, and helping the club into an excellent ninth place in the standings.

“I want to stay at Napoli. I have had a fantastic season here and I would like to continue my adventure with the Azzurri,” Blasi stated.

“Juve and Napoli should be able to find an agreement soon. That is my only wish and I really hope it comes true.

“I feel I owe it to these fantastic supporters and to the Board because I have missed too many games due to suspensions.”

“Sometimes I am too naive, and I am really sorry I couldn't help my teammates against the Rossoneri.

“Napoli gave me the chance to be important and play a great season. They gave me everything I needed really.

“I didn't expect us to do so well this term. We built a solid group and thanks to our quality I think we will be able to do more in the future. I would like to live those feelings at the San Paolo again next season.”

Blasi spent last season on-loan at Fiorentina, having signed for Juventus originally in 2002 from Perugia.

Juventus coach Ranieri giving Paolucci chance
tribalfooball.com - May 08, 2008

Michele Paolucci could be on his way from Atalanta in the summer.

Paolucci is in co-ownership between Juventus and Udinese and Bianconeri coach Claudio Ranieri intends to take the youngster on the club's post-season Asian tour.

If he impresses, Juve are expected to sign Paolucci outright for next season.

Almiron returns to Juve Friday 9 May, 2008 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus outcast Sergio Almiron has returned to Turin ahead of schedule after an injury brought a premature end to his loan spell at Monaco.

The Argentine midfielder joined Juventus from Empoli last summer for around £7m, but he failed to make his mark this term.

After just five starts for the Old Lady, the 27-year-old was sent to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco to give him a chance of regular first-team football.

Having failed to win over the Stade Louis II faithful, an injury to his right thigh brought an end to Almiron’s unglorious time in the principality.

Monaco had been offered the option to make the transfer permanent for a fixed fee – believed to be around £5m – but President Michel Pastor has opted to allow him to return to base.

With Mohamed Sissoko winning plaudits and further reinforcements likely, Almiron may find himself sent out on loan again next term or even sold.

Empoli have previously expressed an interest in bringing Almiron back, but he has snubbed the idea of returning the Stadio Castellani.

Reggina 2 - 0 Empoli
Barreto 68 (R), Amoruso 79 (R)
Stadio Granillo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reggina are safe from the drop, but Empoli face a dramatic final round to discover their destiny.

It was crunch time for two of the bottom three teams, realising this result could decide the fate of the relegation battle. Reggina had won three of their last four, while Empoli had just three points from as many games. Salvatore Aronica and Alessandro Budel sat out bans, while this top flight fixture had never ended in a stalemate with three home wins and one for the Tuscans in 2006.

Davide Bassi rushed off his line twice in quick succession to close down Franco Brienza and Nicola Amoruso, then Brienza dribbled past three players to bring a tough save out of Bassi's outstretched foot.

Ighli Vannucchi had Empoli's first opportunity with a free kick just past the near post on 25 minutes.

Ciccio Cozza should've given Reggina the lead on 41 minutes, but he blasted over after Bassi parried a Brienza shot into his path.

Campagnolo parried a Claudio Marchisio left-foot screamer from the edge of the box.
Bassi did well to smother a Cozza free kick, but Reggina took the lead with an absolute corker. Edgar Barreto has made a habit of scoring blockbusters and he unleashed a rocket from 35 metres that smashed into the top corner.

Empoli reacted immediately as Marchisio's daisy-cutter skimmed the upright, but Nicola Amoruso ran on to Luca Vigiani's through ball, cut back past Marzoratti and hit a left-foot finish past Bassi.

-----------------------------------------------

Sounds like Marchisio had a good game, he has a great long shot and i think thats something we lack in our play since Nedved's shots aren't as reliable as they used to be. If he can force his way into the team next season that will be a useful asset.

Btw does anyone know why De Ceglie hasn't been playing the last few games?

He was injured a few weeks back and only just returned. It seems the last 2 matches only he has been on the bench for reasons I don't know

Napoli secure Juve duo
Friday 23 May, 2008

Napoli have confirmed that Manuele Blasi and Marcelo Zalayeta will be staying with the club after negotiations with Juventus.

Midfielder Blasi was co-owned by Juve, but Napoli now own full rights to the 27-year-old after this week’s talks with the Old Lady.

“It’s the best news that I could have received,” the Roman ace told the Vesuviani’s website.

“Finally I can truly say that I am a Napoli player. I think that I had a good season, but I promise that next year I will give more than 100 per cent again. And maybe I will pick up a few less bookings…”

Uruguayan hitman Zalayeta will also stay in the Azzurri ranks for next season as his co-ownership deal with the Bianconeri has been extended.

The towering ex-Penarol man hit eight goals last season and impressed at the Stadio San Paolo before sustaining a serious knee injury at the end of October.

“I am very happy to be able to spend another year at Napoli,” Zalayeta enthused.

“I think that I had a good season before I picked up that unfortunate injury.

“Now I have so much desire to do well and have even more hunger than I had last year.”

Napoli Complete Signing Of Blasi
Napoli have obtained full ownership of Manuele Blasi from Juventus, and the midfielder is delighted by the news.

The Rome-born star signed for the Partenopei last summer on a co-ownership deal, and he has had a fine season, making 27 Serie A appearances, and helping the club into a superb eighth place finish in their first year back in Serie A since the beginning of the decade.

Napoli have been negotiating to sign the 27-year-old permanently, and the deal has now been completed, much to the player’s delight.

“It’s the best news that I could have received,” Blasi told Napoli’s official website.

“Finally I can truly say that I am a Napoli player. I think that I had a good season, but I promise that next year I will give more than 100 per cent again. And maybe I will pick up a few less bookings.”

Blasi received an incredible 16 yellow cards this season, as well as a red card, thus leading to a host of suspensions.

So, anyone knows how much did we get for the second 1/2 of Blasi ?
And i really hopw that Hamsik was mentioned in these negotiation, eventhough, as Andy once said, it's not very probable that Napoli will let 1/2 of Blasi and Zalayeta be a factor in a potential transfer of Marek Hamsik.
