Coach Gigi Cagni will have to decide whether to start with former Juventus midfielder Sebastian Giovinco after he impressed as a substitute against Roma.

And Empoli's Vittorio Tosto believes the 20-year-old Giovinco is a major asset to his side.

He said: "He is a real phenomenon and I really think he is the next (Gianfranco) Zola. He can put the ball where he wants with his feet and is lightning quick."

    yep. he is co-owned.
De Ceglie played in various youth competitions for Juve, including the Campionato Primavera and Coppa Italia Primavera. In 2006, De Ceglie scored a hat-trick in Juventus' 5-1 defeat of bitter rivals Inter Milan for the Super Coppa Primavera.

De Ceglie made his senior team debut on November 6, 2006 for Juventus against Napoli, coming on as a substitute for Nicola Legrottaglie after 55 minutes, with the game eventually ending 1-1. His first ever senior team goal came in his second game, as Juventus beat Lecce 4-1. He played a total of seven matches with Juventus in their 2006-07 Serie B campaign, and also scored a goal. In June 2007 he was loaned out to Siena as part of a co-ownership agreement.

I think he was loaned out to Siena.

The co-ownership agreement that mentioned above , maybe :
Juve bought 50% of Cristian Molinaro from Siena with agreement (Cash + loaned out De Ceglie to Siena)

Empoli's best chance of the game so far arrived on 78 minutes. A Giovinco corner kick found Antonini for a strike that Luca Castellazzi tipped on to the upright with the aid of a deflection off Volpi on the line.

Empoli: Bassi; Raggi, Vanigli (Abate 58), Piccolo (Volpato 70); Antonini, Giacomazzi, Moro, Tosto; Marianini (Giovinco 46), Vannucchi; Pozzi

Didnt see the game, just posting the channel4 information. Again Seba is coming on as a substitute. Screw u Gigi Cagni  How many times should he save Empoli asses to deserve a place in starting11?!

empoli's midfield totally sucked today, and it was obvious that they were missing the quality of marchisio.
Def. Giovinco still making an impact from the bench, hopefully he can keep it up & become a starter in the 2nd half of the season, the more experience he gets at Empoli the better for us next term.

De Ceglie was great today. He played as a LB for the Italian U21 team and did well by assisting one goal. Well, they played against Azerbaijan but still you could see his talent when it comes to crossing, going forward and even defending. Despite, I thought that he is pretty fast, isn't he?

:agree: Like I said, I'd gladly take him back for Molinaro.

Juventus: Marchisio And Giovinco Are Our Future

The Juventus hierarchy have admitted that they have high hopes for young starlets Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco.

The Azzurrini stars are owned by the Bianconeri but are spending the current campaign on loan to Tuscan-outfit Empoli.

Marchisio, 21, is a centre midfielder, who played a key role in last year's Serie B promotion campaign, making 25 appearances.

"Out of everyone the player who is most ready is Marchisio," said Juve sporting director Alessio Secco.

"Next season, our first reinforcement for our Champions League challenge will be bringing back Marchisio," said Coach Claudio Ranieri.

The pint-sized Sebastian Giovinco is rated as one of the most promising young players in Europe and has earned the label as the 'Italian Lionel Messi'.

Despite playing mainly as a substitute, Giovinco has already scored two Serie A goals for Empoli this season, including the last-minute wonder goal against Roma a fortnight ago.

The 20-year-old fantasista was in mesmerising form for the Italy Under-21s on Friday night, setting up four goals in the 5-0 Euro 2009 qualifying victory over Azerbaijan.

"I am looking forward to next season when Giovinco returns," said President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.
