To take the reverse tactic, while we may have much love for Lippi, that doesn't necessarily mean we respect his play as a midfielder at Sampdoria in the 1970s.

But, i believe replacing him with Conte would be a grave mistake...
What Conte, would possibly offer, CR cant??
Experience?? Vision? Prestige? Superior tactics? Influence? etc
Every time a teams change a coach, the formation, some key players and tactics, they are bound to suffer, for a period of time, until they recover and fully adapt to the new tactic scheme.
Why would we risk that, since we are not going to gain any significant advantages?
Milan dont mind that, they have resources, more political influence and Berlusca actually needs a puppet to serve and obey him. Someone who is loved by the fans, but not more respected by himself. Someone who wouldnt ever dare to defy him!
Thats why, i was sure he would never be able to tolerate Jose.
But we have different priorities, we need someone proven, experienced and influental. Someone who would guide this clueless helm...

I really struggle to come up with top class coaches that I consider a realistic option.

Vision - he is young and being a juventino he shares the same vision and ambition as every other juventino
influence - as a former juventino his influence will be great, this is the former captain and midfield general understands the club and how its run
but like every other big name manager's they started somewhere and eventually got their big break, thats why i said give it a year or 2 and the way conte is progressing i think he could be an ideal candidate for the future.
