i had now watched ranieri's interview: in one year one champion will retire, and another one will be probably selled...you are running out of champions claudio..."we buy there..there..there.." didn't told a word about bringing a big name. But i liked his optimism...and the way he saw chelsea's job.

I think Ranieri's job is to build the squad like he did in Chelsea, raise young players and blend the them with old guards. When the board think he finish it, he'll leave. You guys should not be impatient and claim he must get sacked ASAP, the board think it's time Juve need him and they will decide when it's the right for him to leave, not us, not him, not anyone. I understand why you guys are so upset about him, I was too but open your eyes, his objectives are not Scudetto and wining every single match. However, yes I agree and I'm disappointed too, he MUST give Gio more chances.

some of you really need to check your head..

I see the post from:gsol: real supporters:gsol: about need for better coach, and yes, there is always someone better better but in every their post i can see as well that we need new, better players at the same time.

So let me ask you, if we would have 3-4 WC players such as Diego, Silva, Sagna, etc, would it be possible that CR could do better job, ie fighting for 1st spot, getting better result against Chelsea, and when you go to answer that, consider our injured players this season, and than think as well could anybody else with same squad do better?

Ranieri: «We have to score »

The Juventus coach touched on a number of topics during the press conference at the Juventus Media Center on Friday afternoon, speaking first of all of the next match, a difficult encounter like the one against Napoli: «Napoli are going through a particular time.We have to do well and we have to score. We are not scoring enough and we hope to score more regularly now. Napoli has 5 points more then they did last year at this time and this says a lot about the level of Italian football

The level of Italian football?
«I am worried about the state of football in Italy. However, it is a cycle, sometimes you’re at the top and sometimes not. We are competitive at the best levels but then there are times when you do not reach the finals. It is normal that Germany is returning. Slowly we will have Holland back. Italy is always up there and then it may happen that in a particular year or two Italy is not at the top»

What went wrong against Chelsea?
«I will tell the team what the mistakes were not to you. We must go in search of perfection. You make mistakes even when you win. What interests me are the results in Italy more then anywhere else. We lost the first match of this encounter with Chelsea and we have to think of the second part but now we must first think of Napoli

Are you surprised by Nedved’s decision to retire? Is there any player who you think can replace him? Does he need to be similar?
«I am not surprised by Nedved’s words otherwise I would be living on the moon. We have to respect his decision. I think every player is unique especially when he is a golden ball winner. I was hoping he would go on. Obviously the player who takes his place will need time to adapt and you will attack him if he fails to do this soon enough. He does not need to be similar

The next few months are full of important matches from the championship to the Champions Leaue to the Coppa Italia...
« We will be playing everything in this last phase of the championship. We wanted to get here and now it’s up to us to show our teeth and show everybody what we’re capable of. It depends on us. I am not worried. It is a calendar in which every match is important. We will think of one match at a time . It is useless to think ahead but we must think of the next match. The period between November and December was not a problem. We will try to make do. There is space for everybody. What is important is that whoever plays gives 110%

You were hoping to recover Zebina and Knezevic but they wer not called-up...
«Zebina will probably play a match with the Primavera on Sunday to get back to the field of play».

Do you think Amauri’s citizenship saga is distracting him?
«I think Amauri is playing an excellent championship. He plays for the team, he scored last time so I’m happy. It could be a distraction during his free time but when he is here he doesn’t show it. He fought hard to get to Juventus and is doing extremely well. He is the usual Amauri»..

Milan are were eliminated from the UEFA Cup
«I didn’t expect it. Milan has only the championship now and this is an a new problem».

Do you think coaches in Italy are not appreciated?
«It is not a matter of appreciation. You have a team and you must try to win always. This is the motto of Italian football».

Ranieri juggles Juve demands
Saturday 28 February, 2009
Claudio Ranieri explained his tactical choices, how Juventus recovered from the Champions League and how he'll approach the second leg with Chelsea.

“It was important to win after the Champions League game and it isn't easy to get back that determination and concentration,” he said after a 1-0 result against Napoli.

“The lads had a great first half, but then Napoli lost that initial tension and threw everything they had at us. Nonetheless, [Gigi] Buffon had precious little to do.

“It was difficult as Napoli closed up all the spaces and tried to hit us on the break, we were fortunate to get that goal right before the break.”

They only won thanks to Manuele Blasi's deflection on a wayward Claudio Marchisio effort from distance.

Sebastian Giovinco replaced Pavel Nedved on the left flank, but Ranieri was jeered by the fans when substituting the youngster for the more defensive Hasan Salihamidzic.

“This season he has played in that position of the 4-4-2. At times when I was missing strikers I'd put him more central, which may be where he gives his best, but with Nedved needing a rest I thought it right to give Giovinco a chance.

“I wanted to leave [Marco] Marchionni's experience behind the strikers and introduce Amauri, who provides strength and holds up the ball.”

Marchisio has been one of the more impressive young players and Ranieri praised those who have kept Juventus afloat during an injury crisis.

“The season we've had has seen all the lads make their contribution. If we are where we are it is thanks to all those relatively new players who put the effort in when others were injured and I thank them for their contribution.

“Marchisio and [Christian] Poulsen put a lot of work in and closed down the Napoli attacks brilliantly. They really protected the defence in a quiet but decisive system to close down [Ezequiel] Lavezzi.”

There was more bad news, as Nicola Legrottaglie limped off the field with a suspected sprained knee.

“Legrottaglie said he sprained his knee. We'll test it tomorrow and I hope it's nothing too serious, but he did ask to leave the pitch.”

At the moment Juventus are six points adrift of Inter, who take on Roma on Sunday evening.

“For the good of the season, I will be supporting Roma!” smiled the Coach who is from the Eternal City.

Champions League rivals Chelsea hardly impressed this week either, as they squeezed past Wigan 2-1 in stoppages.

“I do not puff myself up at all. Chelsea are a great side who only lost the Champions League on penalties last season. They are a candidate to win it this time too.

“We are humble and know it is going to be difficult, but the 1-0 defeat was not a surprise or a big disappointment.

“We must leave the field exhausted and with our heads held high.”

Ok...

He is speaking like he deserves praise for the noble act of fielding Giovinco... :melayyanandmessi:

This is exactly what's wrong with Ranieri. He may be a nice fellow and a decent tactician, but he is bottom line a coward and has a losing mentality.

He may make dubious substitutions but a coward or one with a losing mentality does not make wonders with weak teams, nor do they bring a team with no history to second place in England.

That was a to-the-point analysis, very systematic and logical and topped with a correct conclusion.

that's right, but how can we believe you about knowing things about football when you did not know even what is pussy ;)

JK
No, that's not right.

Why thank you.

Second place are the key words in your post. Especially looking at the transfer budget at his disposal with Chelsea leaves me even more unimpressed. Don't get me wrong. Ranieri is a decent tactician and I do give him credit for establishing Juve at the top so early after getting demoted and stripped on players. But as of today, the team should be ready to take the next step. Ranieri has shown he is not able to do this. We're stuck playing absolute shit football, grinding out points and wins with the least of margin every time. Because he is a coward with a losing mentality. The man simply lacks balls.
