I think it is the pure job of the manager to win games, whether it is 3-0 or 1-0 or 2-1 or 5-4, a win is a win. Now since you are winning, I think he is doing his job. The problem is, is he playing his strongest team? That depends on your use of the word strong, do you mean it as a figure of pure strength? Because if you do, then Giovinco or as I call him, "Pinocchio" lacks the "strength" to play, as he is a small boy. But I think he is a better player than some of the others and should be given his chance in the First Team. Now if you mean strength in that situation, then I don't think he is fielding the strongest team, and won't while Marchiospiloni and Moleheadonaro still play every game.
When I say strongest, I mean the team most likely to win any given match.

Doesn't that, oddly, define incompetence?
It could be interpreted that way.

What the strongest team is for a game is highly subjective and, while I don't agree with all his decisions, he is far from incompetent.

He just has different priorities a lot of people. Many of us here feel Giovinco could do better at RM than Marchionni, but Giovinco doesn't defend well enough for Ranieri to play him wide.

He's just overly cautious at times.

Even if he really did say that exclusively to Tuttosport, not wanting to buy a player for huge money who wouldn't be able to slot into our (working) system is hardly controversial.
no,in fact it is perfectly sensible. we should not change our whole system, one that is winning by the way, to accomodate one player who would then require that everything went through him in order for our system to work

WHO CARES! So we shouldn't take chances on youngsters just because of a few people on a forum? What sort of bullshit is that?

For fucks sake, get an identity for yourself.
so....he SHOULD play the youngsters just because of a few people on an internet forum want him to? interesting

What's wrong with this?
He can be useful everywhere but he obviously works better behind the striker(s) than he does as a LM.
I don't know, I think he's being kicked around too much when he plays up front. His best position would be the one Nedved had in 2002/03, something between LM and AM. But in order to play that, we really need to find a new Davids.

The way he laughed when Amauri scored will remain in my head for a long time... He must have thought,"If I knew Milan were gonna play this way I would have send a bunch of old ladies just to make the match look competitive"...
Forza Ranieri... I so want him to win the Scudetto and/or Champions League and prove his doubters wrong... This season even though he had a few completely horrendous games, he did have amazing games at other times...

Ranieri: «We needed to play a great match and we did»

Great satisfaction for Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri who saw his team obtaining a very important victory and the sole-occupancy of the second place while breathing down the necks of Inter.

«I don’t know if it was the best match played by Juve this season as many people are saying but I’m very happy because to beat Milan we needed to play very well let alone beating them in such a way. We knew we would have to run a lot. With players like they have it is never easy».

Words of praise and rightly so for the young players De Ceglie and Marchisio: «Claudio and Paolo played really well as did Amauri. It might be difficult to believe but at the end of the match when we were leading 3-2 and 4-2 I was angry because we didn’t vary our play to make them run but its easy to speak and much more difficult when you’re on the field

Asked whether Juventus are the anti-Inter, Ranieri answered: «Tonight we are but as from tomorrow we must start thinking of the match against Atalanta which won’t be easy. One thing is certain: Inter is trying to run away but we together with other teams like Milan and Napoli must prevent them from doing so».

Forza Ranieri!! I'm glad I was always sticking to him. He has a better record against big teams than the likes of Lippi and Crapello.
