I must congratulate Signor Ranieri for his fine job vs. the big teams. Maybe he's a real cup-coach? We will see, since he will most likely be coach next season too.

But my dream is Lippi as manager (sir alex role)

What about the Coppa italia this season?!!!
I didn't expect us to go past Inter , especially then when our squad wasn't as good . We camo have very close and were unlucky to have gone out .

Regardless , in my opinion , good coaches decide how the league season goes for a team while good form decide how cup matches go for a team .

Let's Not Stop Now - Ranieri

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri talked about the importance of keeping up the good work in this last part of the season.

After yesterday's easy 3-0 win over Parma - a match postponed from 30 March due to the tragic and accidental death of a fan that morning - Juventus are very close to mathematically sealing their place in the Champions League for next season. However, coach Claudio Ranieri wants to keep his players focused ahead of these last five matches of the season.

"We must not give up now, if we did that we would not be a great team," the Roman coach said. If Juve win at Atalanta next weekend, they would mathematically guarantee at least the fourth place, but they could still potentially finish second, although that will also depend on results on other pitches.

Finishing second would even allow Juve to qualify directly to the Champions League and avoid the preliminary rounds, which is obviously a very strong motivation. The enthusiasm among the players is also very strong, with captain Alessandro Del Piero looking in especially scintillating form.

"It couldn't have gone better," he said on the victory against Parma, which allowed them to come within a whisker of their objective, which has always been to qualify for next season's Champions League following their promotion from Serie B.

I have to admit that I am not very fond of Ranieri, but if he secures us the second spot ahead of Rome, than I might consider giving him another year (if it was up to me to decide..:)). But still, Lippi is my first choice...

We might never know, but in my opinion, there's no coach that would've done better than Ranieri with our current team.
I agree!

Think that we had the referees against us, and still we managed to be in the 3rd position! We could be in the 2nd place if there weren't so many ''faults'' from the referees in our games.
What more do you want guys?To win the scidetto immediatly after our return in Serie A?
I still remember some members saying during the summer that we would suffer in this season, and that our first year back in Serie A would be a nightmare and that we would hardly finish 5th or 6th.
But then everything changed. The team started well and many started to dream the scudetto, asking always for more!
Ranieri did not lose any derby, and that's something brilliant. And NO, that wasn't only beacuse of the players.
He did some mistakes in the games against Sampdoria and Fiorentina and etc, and the truth is that he couldn't motive the players to perform against the small sides, but none is perfect guys!
In my opinion, Lippi or Mourinho or everyone would be criticised too even if he was in the 2nd position with this Juve team.
So YES I'm pleased with Ranieri. He has his bad things but as I said before none is perfect, and I doubt that many could do better with this squad

Actually Corriere Dello Sport (I think) published the Serie A standings if the referee mistakes had not taken place, and in fact Juve would have been at the top

well i don't know about CdS, but the gazzetta released such a table but that was some time ago, and we actually were no 1. But it's idiotic. Referee mistakes are part of the game, and the word 'conspiracy' comes up easily after calciopoli, but imo, that's not a good thing to do. It just is like that and the italian media is firing all these talks up with their headlines... Well, i won't go into details because it's the wrong post to do so.

Ranieri keeps pressure on

Channel 4

Claudio Ranieri has warned Juventus not to assume a Champions League spot is secure before Sunday’s match with Atalanta.

“We have to end this week on a high,” said the Coach after Wednesday’s rescheduled 3-0 win over Parma.

“It is a difficult game and Atalanta gave us real problems when we met earlier this season. We shall need great determination and motivation.

“As Trap used to say, don’t say cat unless it’s in the bag,” he grinned.

One of Giovanni Trapattoni’s most famous sayings was an adaptation of 'don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched,’ placed in his unique way with language.

One more win could mathematically safeguard Juve’s top four finish, but few have conquered the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia this term.

Giorgio Chiellini is still an injury doubt, but Cristiano Zanetti, Jonathan Zebina and Nicola Legrottaglie have recovered.

There has been talk of Pavel Nedved retiring this summer, but Ranieri does not see it happening.

“He will continue to play and for that matter I’m certain he’ll return to the national team. He runs, has fun, fights and gets angry. It’s the same old Nedved and he’s still so hungry.”

The tactician hopes his entire team can take on the same attitude even after third place is under lock and key.

“We must and want to be the best. This is the concept that the champions have passed down to the squad. When I see everyone fight to the last day, it’s a sign they have understood the lesson.”

Ranieri marches on Roma channel 4
Sunday 20 April, 2008

Claudio Ranieri hints Juventus are hunting Roma’s second place spot, while Gigi Del Neri criticised Atalanta’s lack of effort.

Today’s 4-0 win in Bergamo puts the Bianconeri within five points of Roma and a push for an automatic Champions League qualifying berth is not out of the question.

“Our objective is to be Juventus, so that means having that something extra and breathing the same air as the champions,” noted Ranieri.

“Juventus want to be number one and we always aim to improve. We wanted to get a good start to this game and, considering two great wins on the trot against Milan and Parma, hoped to end the week on a high.

“The lads did brilliantly to give me everything they had and always fight for the result. They inspire me.”

Alessandro Del Piero bagged a hat-trick after Nicola Legrottaglie’s opener at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia.

The win was already secured in the opening half-hour and Atalanta boss Del Neri did not appreciate this attitude.

“We gave them too much in the first 10 minutes and made many mistakes. Juventus deserved to win and are in great shape, but we didn’t really put in the effort.

“One must have more dignity, desire and focus. I preferred the second half, when we made our mark a little more.”
