Lampard, it would be one thing if you were a pure Juve fan, but it's just obvious you love Ranieri. I don't get it. I mean, just tell us what your feelings are and we'll understand. If you like him, who cares? I won't hate you for it. If you're gay I won't hate you either.

Ranieri: Don must select Alex
Monday 21 April, 2008

Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri believes Alex Del Piero fully deserves a place in Roberto Donadoni's Italy squad for Euro 2008.

Del Piero has been in outrageous form lately, scoring six in his last three games, including a hat-trick at Atalanta on Sunday.

“I am convinced that Donadoni will call Alex. He is enjoying a great spell at the moment and has been demonstrating his worth for some time.

“But that is only my personal opinion,” added Ranieri. Italy boss Donadoni has only picked the 33-year-old on a handful of occasions since taking over from Marcello Lippi in July 2006.

Del Piero has struck 20 times in 37 matches this season, netting 17 of those goals in Serie A.

But Juve's talisman faces stiff competition for a seat on this summer's plane to Austria and Switzerland from Bayern Munich's Luca Toni and Genoa's Marco Borriello.

Meanwhile, Bianconeri director of sport Alessio Secco is planning for next season with the Italian Press reporting several moves to strengthen Juve's rearguard.

Full-backs in Secco's sights include Catania's Juan Vargas, Lyon's Fabio Grosso, Fiorentina's Manuel Pasqual and, ambitiously, Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

The 26-year-old French international has a contract until June 2009 and talks over a renewal are believed to have come to a halt.

The Red Devils would like to keep the dynamic left-back, but are anxious not to allow Evra to run down his contract and subsequently his value.

It is believed that an offer of around £10m would be enough to end United's indecision and secure his signature.

if juve preformed like this all season , we would have been on top now but we cant complain , first juve wanted the 4th place then we went to third and now we are going for the 2nd place.

I was one of the Juventini who were completely against signing Ranieri after the resignation of Deschamps, as I built my viewpoint on what Ranieri had achieved during his career. I knew that he coached top clubs in top leagues, but what concerned me was what trophies he did win.

Anyways, this isn't the question right now. The question is "Is Ranieri ready to coach Juventus after Juventus have already declared themselves a powerful team in the peninsula and soon in Europe?"

To my mind, we should no longer question the man's managerial history because the case has become a matter of right. Ranieri has overachieved with Juventus in his first season on Juve's bench and he has all the right to manage the team whom he has taken to its rightful place.

As long as we qualify for CL next year, I would accept Ranieri being rewarded by coaching us next year.

However I still believe Mourinho would be a better coach ;)

I am not so sure...Juve have always had a touch of arrogance about them...it is just recently where we have been knocked down that we have had to stay quiet for a while until we get back on our feet so to speak...Mourinho image-wise would be fabulous for Juve...
