Ranieri 'gets golden handshake'
There are reports that Claudio Ranieri has finally reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Juventus.
The Coach was fired two weeks from the end of last season and still has another year to run on his original deal.
Ranieri had threatened to take the matter to court and receive the wages for that year, while the Bianconeri were adamant they did not want to give him any 'golden handshake.’
According to reports in today’s newspapers, a deal was finally reached on Friday with Ranieri and all his coaching staff receiving a year’s wages.
It is not exactly a defeat for Juventus, as they will not now pay out the bonuses for Champions League qualification and any other success new boss Ciro Ferrara will attain.
There is also a reported clause barring Ranieri from taking on a new job until December 31, 2009.
It does leave the door open for him to start afresh in Russia, though, as Zenit are looking for a new Coach from January.
