Reports in Britain are suggesting that Juventus may beat Rangers in the race to sign Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro.

The Peruvian’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires in June and the 28-year-old is set to leave the Allianza Arena on a Bosman after six seasons with the Bavarian outfit.

The Daily Record claims that the player was offered a massive £45,000 a week deal by Rangers after boss Walter Smith spoke to the South American’s agent last week.
However, Juventus are understood to be ready to outbid them by offering £60,000 a week in order to bring Pizarro to the Stadio Olimpico.

The former Werder Bremen man, who would arrive with the added bonus of an Italian passport, has been associated with the Old Lady for the last six months.

Valencia, PSV and Inter are also reportedly keen on the striker which makes a Glasgow switch seem unlikely – even if they are willing to make the Lima-born ace the highest-paid player in their history.

This is absolute madness to pay him 60k per week. He's no better than Iaquinta, at least Iaquinta has some pace.....

Bullshit. The Daily Retard speaks shite all the time and there is no way Rangers can afford to pay anyone £45000 a week. They are buying up shite Scottish players cos that is all they can afford.

I would be very disappointed if we pay Pizzaro £60000 a week. He is an OK striker but I would not see him as a starter here and £60000 is too much for a bench guy..

Pizzaro is a very good player! Don't know why people here dislike him. I guess you haven't seen enough of him! A perfect sub for Trezeguet!!!

How would the media know his wages? Its obviously bullshit. If he comes to Juventus, it wont be as a starter, and therefore he wont earn anywhere near that number.

who the hell in management thinks he is a good player??? Are we buying 3 (Hunter) forwards to replace Trez??? Are we so desperate to sign Pizarro that we are competing with Rangers...SPL is for has-been/never-been players and we want to sign this guy...
andy Möller advised them to buy Pizarro (he gives him 5 stars in rating)

No, this guy is too arrogant. He is not bad, but i dont like his character. Maybe we should instead buy Santa Cruz this is underrated, he is very useful, always searching for the next pass possibility. Should Trez leave we must buy huntelaar alltough i heard he is also a idiot or keep Bojinov.

Secco is obviously going to be conservative on the market, hence his advances for players like Iaquinta and Pizarro. These players seem like filler, but there not near as bad as everyone makes them sound like, pending the future of Trezeguet. However, I cannot see these players in Juventus' long-term plans, and that's my biggest concern. The future is now, and if the management fail to implement a concrete plan, the out-door will be swinging.

Things would've been ten-times easier if Deschamps just played Bojinov a little more often. Perhaps next year's third/fourth striker was staring them right in the face all along. Stupid is as stupid does, I suppose...

Pizza is not bad, I just think he is kind-of selfish. Which is good sometimes as a striker.
It's not like Trez is much of a team player.

BLUES SNAP UP PIZARRO

Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro has joined Chelsea on a free transfer, according to The Times

The Peruvian striker is out-of-contract and is seeking a move away from the deposed Bundesliga champions after they failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Pizarro had been heavily linked with a move to Juventus after snubbing an ambitious offer from Rangers, but it appears the departure of Didier Deschamps from the Turin giants put an end to their interest.

Pizarro has scored 97 goals in 229 games for the German giants.
