What, that you're limiting this to only Serie A?

Marchisio (past 2 Serie A seasons): 15 goals, 5 assists
Hernanes (past 2 Serie A seasons): 19 goals, 6 assists
Giaccherini (past 2 Serie A seasons): 4 goals, 5 assists

Do you see how much more superior Marchisio is than Giaccherini?
No one is arguing that. Or you're just being sarcastic?

Why are you laughing ?!
It's not like Marchisio is way better than him, anyway they are different kind of players .
He's laughing at my post because he thinks Hernanes is better. And while I agree with him, the gulf of talent/quality between Hernanes and Marchisio is less than that of Marchisio and Giaccherini.

We all know he's played there the most, but it seems that whenever the coach wants to change things up with formations, Marchisio is the first one to be pushed out of the CM position, meaning, the coach thinks he's good there, but not good enough to always be there.
Thats the worrisome part, and of course we all know why he is thrown here and there like a pinball. Its because He doesnt have an stablished role, or to be precise...he is not good enough in anything but is not bad either.. so coaches tend to use him whenever possible to see if they discover his "real" position.

In summary, they dont know what to do with him.

If you wanna be mean, you can say he is a "glorified padoin/giach", Who are often used as workhorses in many positions since they are versatile but do not excel in anything.

It happens alot, really? He has off periods (and clearly has physically struggled with some ailment last season) , but bordering on revisionism to say alot. He is a very much a productive part of the team, off form is just that, off form, even his poor for tends to remind people of his disappointing seasons of the past years (where I was one if his main critics, not a player for 4-4-2) and become hysterical due to it (and also fail to notice the difference between poor game and non flashy game where he fulfills a tactically useful and subdued role) . Alot is overstretching it, since I didn't imagine him working tirelessly most of the time, scoring 9 goals (key games included) and assisting enough throughout the season.
Yeah, you're asking a bit much now, Os :D

You're being unreasonable here. Like someone is paying you to defend him all the time. What's it to you? You like him. Fine. But most of the time you're overstepping a bit. He did gave an interview in which he declared his unhappiness. Money is not an issue for him. What is than? Lack of respect?
But here comes your obvious response...
One can also get the feeling someone is paying you to criticize him & repeat yourself all the time. Just so you know.

he had a sub par season, all that should be coming out of his mouth is i will do better next year
More like a sub par few months. But hey, objectivity is usually not welcomed in this thread.

And why does it bother you when Marchisio says something stupid (or uncalled for), but was it never an issue when Melo, for example, ran his mouth? :D

Oh, I didn't mean to set you straight. Just merely pointing out that you can use your own argument against yourself as well. You know, depending on which side of the argument you're on.

As for the first bit you quoted, that is indeed subjective, as it always is with performances. I just went ahead with what the majority of the forum thought back then (first part of the season, early stages of the 2nd part), when he got most mom's.

:agree:

I would really like to see his average rating from the italian median compared to the other players.
