Selling Marchisio would be a bonehead move. Just need to rotate him more to keep him from dawning his cloak of invisibility when he gets complacent.

im not up for selling marchisio...lets just say ok im open to it..who woould we bring in that is available (and by available, all the parameters have to be set up right with player AND club and assuming we've won the scuffle with other top clubs for that said player)? and we'd still run the risk of whoever flopping hard...there's somthing not right with taking apart this lovely piece of machinery...and its a part that that has a huge technical/tactical as well as emotional/soulful weighting on the team and fans...

i say no...u guys wanna sell vuci, marchi, gio, quags etc etc in same window and still want to say "we're not a selling club""

I can't disagree about the Italian fanbase part, but it is rather insulting to the aforementioned trio that Marchisio be placed on the same pedestal.

As for being a sure starter for Juventus and the NT, that isn't a point I can argue with either, as facts are facts. However, at Juventus, and unlike the national team, we do have options, and the significant amount of money generated from any potential sale of Marchisio (hypothetical scenario of course) could also allow us to strengthen other areas, as well as the midfield. Mind you, I am not in favor of selling him, but if an indecent proposal were made, it would be hard to refuse.
Oh, but I get your point. Besides, as you already mentioned in an earlier post: for you football is a business & it has nothing to do with sentimentality.

However, for me it is not. The day the club becomes just another business (or more to the point: the day when I personally get that feeling), is the day I'll no longer care.

Pogba is younger, and has far more potential. He could possibly be sold for over 50 in a couple of seasons.

As for Marchisio, 35 million is a fair price. You don't have to agree, but that is my fucking opinion, so deal with it.

There is no room for sentiment in business, and football has become a business.
if football is a business then why is Vidal untouchable

Vidal is untouchable for now, and after the season that he has had. We sold the best player in the world back in 2001, if you remember. If we sell anyone, it won't surprise me. I was devastated the summer we sold Zidane, the greatest player of his generation.

If someone were to make an offer of say, 60 million cash for Vidal, I am sure we would consider it long and hard.

It is not completely devoid of sentimentality :D However, the signs are there, and the trend is that sports in general, not only football, are becoming and being run more and more like a business.

I wouldn't sell Buffon or Chiellini for any sum for example, because I feel attached to them, as I was to Del Piero, Nedved, Zidane, Trezeguet, and Davids before them.

Don't know that you guys would get a significant sum.
Straight swap with Liverpool for Suarez :klin:

Selling marchisio would be retarded.

first of all, those that arent only looking at flair and fancy (i'm looking at you b81) know the tremendous effect marchisio has on this juventus, when not in possession. He is vital to this team and we simply cannot get a player thats tactically that adept, and so allround. secondly, pirlo aging would give us a second headache

for the sake of the team, we should NOT sell him.

Then there is his fanbase. He sells quite a bit of shirts, italian fans love him, and isnt he vice captain ?

Nono, they can stick 35or however the fuck mil in their ass, and look elsewere.

As always, you are right Zach. I mean, fuck opinions anyway, when all you do is deliver cold hard facts  :agree:

Oh, and Zach, I value guys like Chiellini, Licht, and Vidal, and they are as distant from flair and fancy as you can possibly fathom ;)

I know the opinions on Marchisio are divided on this forum so some may not agree with my opinion. Currently CMs such as Marchisio, who delivers defensively and in attack are very rare to find (so i'm not talking about midfielders with advanced position on the field, purely Central Midfielders). Thanks to this system Marchisio is able to get into the box numerous times per game, besides that his link-up play with Vidal, Pirlo and Pogba is great. If we would sell him, a replacement is needed with the same characteristics as Marchisio. These different qualities in our midfield is what it makes so strong. So please don't talk about Hernanes (great player by the way) as a replacement because he wouldn't be one. In our system he would be rather a replacement for Pirlo than Marchisio. So yes i wouldn't sell him even for 30 million which is a huge amount especially for a midfielder.

Thanks. If that was sarcastic, and i'm sure it was, look it up and u'll see that i'm right.

And you mention players who are spectacular to watch in their own way. Marchisio can be boring to look at when he is working for the team and not visible.

Dude we have pogba.
And marchisio tends to lack end product in a lot of games. And 30 mils is a lot to just ignore, just saying.

Pogba currently is not as good as marchisio

"OMG BUT POGBY IS GOOD AT DRIBBELING AND SHOOTING AND SHIT"

yeah, but he's a cm. when pogba replaces marchisio we are alot less good at controlling the game and opposing our will. Pogba needs players around him to carry out the dirty work in order to shine. Hence its why he replaces pirlo, and why we never saw pogba AND marrone in any decent game.

Pogba is an awesome youngster and excellent replacement for pirlo currently. But no one in the team can replace marchisio or vidal without a drop in quality overall

We would be foolish not to sell Marchisio for 25-30M and reinvest it in better players.

This is coming from the one of the biggest Marchisio fanboys. He's a very good player but far from irreplaceable.

Use Pogba, invest Principino's sale in Suarez or Reus. Keep Marrone (we need a Turin native). Think it would improve our team much more :notbad:
