Let's be realistic - even Marotta can get 30M from this bid, if the wages offered are true and we really mean to keep him we would have to give him a new contract. And there he won't be paying much taxes either...

If he wants to stay and doesn't care about wages then we shouldn't force him, but the reality is in an year he could be out of our best 11.

Get the money and give Marrone or someone else more minutes too. We are talking Higuain/Goetze money here guys...

Marchisio already expressed that he wants to stay so I dont really think hes looking for more money, maybe just to extend his contract with maybe a slight increase in wages

Selling Marchisio would mean we would have to buy another cm

when was the last time a CM was sold for 50M Euros?
Never. However, Modric, Witsel, Essien, Alonso, Mendieta, Veron, and Martinez were all within the 35-40 million Euro bracket (if we account for inflation) over the past 15 years. Hence, it isn't inconceivable that a 50 million bid for a world class CM could be made in the coming years.

Well we should hear from him after this offer. Then again 6m with almost no taxes is A LOT. He is on about 2.5-ish + bonuses now and while he isn't the best paid he is a certain starting 11 salary package. Increase? Contract extension? What about his resale value... ;) After all it is all about the club, right? :)

We can buy another CM if we feel he is the right one. We can get Verratti and have enough change for Ogbonna and Peluso. If we are to make a big mercato and give our coach options - this is not an opportunity to be sniffed at.
Then there is the possibility that they want him 35m badly or even more...

Common sense is relative. You might think selling Marchisio is illogical, but everyone has a price. As I said, lack of sentiment might push us to sell. Marchisio is not in the same bracket as guys lik Gigi, Chiellini, and Del Piero before him.
Maybe he isn't in the same bracket for you, but he definitely is for a big part of our (Italian) fanbase. Which, like it or not, is still of the utmost importance.

That being said, I can see why many people would want to sell the only guy that came from the youth setup who's developed into a sure starter for the team as well as the NT.

I can't disagree about the Italian fanbase part, but it is rather insulting to the aforementioned trio that Marchisio be placed on the same pedestal.

As for being a sure starter for Juventus and the NT, that isn't a point I can argue with either, as facts are facts. However, at Juventus, and unlike the national team, we do have options, and the significant amount of money generated from any potential sale of Marchisio (hypothetical scenario of course) could also allow us to strengthen other areas, as well as the midfield. Mind you, I am not in favor of selling him, but if an indecent proposal were made, it would be hard to refuse.
